Overview

Unlike medical alert devices that only work inside the home, the GreatCall Splash goes everywhere. It's waterproof (IPX7-rated, submersible up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes), so it can be used while gardening, at the beach, or in the shower. It runs on the nation's largest, most reliable wireless network, working wherever cellular coverage is available. In any uncertain or unsafe situation, pressing the button connects the user immediately to an NAED Certified Response Agent, who confirms location via patented GPS technology, evaluates the situation, and gets the user the help they need.

How 5Star Service Works

1. Press the button to establish two-way communication with a 5Star Agent.
2. The Agent speaks directly with the user through the device.
3. Using GPS, the Agent confirms the user's location and evaluates the situation.
4. The Agent can call emergency services, connect a nurse or doctor, arrange roadside assistance or a locksmith, or contact family (some services require a GoPlan upgrade).
5. The Agent stays on the line with the user until the situation is resolved.

In a critical emergency, users can connect directly to 9-1-1 by pressing and holding the button for five seconds.

5Star Agents — 24/7 Support

One touch of the button connects the user immediately to live, 100% U.S.-based 5Star Agents certified by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAED). Agents handle a variety of situations day or night and provide translation support in over 100 languages. Agents can call emergency services if needed, conference in emergency contacts, and stay on the line until the situation is resolved.

Patented GPS Technology

Agents use GPS technology, advanced location analysis, and the "frequent locations" information the user provides in their Personal Profile to confirm location when calling. The Personal Profile stores critical details — medical information and emergency contacts — that help Agents provide faster, potentially life-saving assistance. Profile information is kept confidential and shared only when dispatching emergency services.

Pricing & Plans

No contracts, no cancellation fees, no equipment to install. First month free when purchased in store. A one-time $35 activation fee applies (with a $10 discount for online activation). Not all personal emergency response systems (PERS) have the same features. 5Star or 9-1-1 calls require available cellular service; location tracking is approximate and cannot be guaranteed exact. Monthly fees exclude government taxes/surcharges and are subject to change.

GreatCall GoPlan Upgrade

Adds Urgent Care — speak to a registered nurse who triages medical questions and, if necessary, arranges a board-certified doctor callback within 30 minutes (advice, diagnosis, and prescription of common medications where appropriate) — plus the GreatCall Link app, which lets family members/caregivers view device status and get daily well-being updates via smartphone or home computer.
