    Full text manual (for reference)

Product data sheet for the GE Interlogix (Caddx) NX-590E Network Module — an Ethernet communication module for NetworX (NX) security control panels.

    Overview

The NX-590E Network Module brings Ethernet connectivity to the NetworX control panel line, establishing a direct pipe from the panel to a central monitoring station over the network. It works in conjunction with the Osborne-Hoffman Network Receiver.

    Key Features

    • Sends alarm events to up to two IP addresses for dual, split, or backup reporting
    • Can also send events to two e-mail addresses
    • Configurable for dial or cellular backup if network communication fails
    • Triple-DES encryption protects data; a dynamic 24-byte random KEY is generated for every event
    • Supports static IP (assigned by the IS department) or DHCP addressing
    • All functions are programmable via keypad or DL900 upload/download software

    Standard Features

    • Up to 10,000 NX-590E modules can be monitored on a single Osborne-Hoffman Network Receiver
    • Backwards compatible with all NetworX (NX) controls; resides in a 6-inch slot in the control cabinet
    • 10BT Ethernet connectivity with TCP/IP
    • Video tagging on events sent to Kalatel's DVMRE digital recorder/multiplexer, so video is stored alongside the event
    • On-site or remote-initiated download using DL900 software
    • Firmware updates can be downloaded and flashed into modules over the network
    • Uses SIA or Contact ID reporting formats
    • User-selectable polling time for full supervision
    • Low current draw: 90 mA standby, 120 mA during communication at 12 VDC from the NX control panel
    • Small bandwidth footprint — typical message is only 20 bytes
    • Embedded web server with application links into the NX control (available soon at time of publication)
    • PPP connectivity via an onboard optional 2400-baud modem or user-supplied modem (available soon at time of publication)
