User manual for the GE (Jasco) 15138 Outdoor Plug-In 24-Hour Mechanical Timer — a weatherproof mechanical timer that turns a connected outdoor device on and off at scheduled times throughout the day, in 30-minute increments.

    How to Program the Timer

    1. Locate the segments around the outer edge of the timer's dial. Each segment represents 30 minutes and can be pushed down from the edge of the dial (the tip of a pen or pencil works well). Segments that have been pushed down can be pushed back up by hand. Make sure all segments are pushed up before you begin programming.
    2. Select the time period(s) you want the connected lamp or device turned on, then push down all the segments that fall within that period. For example, to turn a lamp on at 10PM and off at 2AM, push down the segments representing 10PM, 2AM, and everything in between. You may need to turn the dial clockwise to reach the segments you want.
    3. Rotate the timer's dial clockwise until the pointer on the dial's face points to the current time of day. Note: nighttime hours (6:30PM to 6:30AM) are highlighted with a black background on the dial for easier reading.
    4. Plug the timer into an electrical GFCI outlet convenient to the device you want to control.
    5. Plug the device into the outlet on the bottom of the timer, and turn the device's own switch to "on" for automatic control — the timer will not turn the device on if its own switch is off. The device will now turn on and off automatically at the times you've programmed.

    Load Rating

Do not plug in more than the rated load (see the rating printed on the timer). To find the total wattage in use: if wattage isn't marked on the appliance, multiply the ampere rating on its nameplate by 125 volts to get equivalent watts. For lamps with multiple bulbs, sum the wattage of all the bulbs.
