  • GE 10353 — Surge Protector Instructions & Warranty

    August 31, 2026 3 min read

Use instructions and limited-lifetime warranty for the GE 10353 surge protector.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Instructions and warranty for the GE 10353 Surge Protector, manufactured under license by Jasco Products Company. This surge protector includes a limited-lifetime warranty and a connected equipment warranty covering equipment plugged directly into it.

    Use Instructions

    1. Plug the surge protector into a standard grounded duplex wall receptacle, fully inserting the plug and covering both outlets. Ensure no conductors are exposed.
    2. The surge protector now provides power and surge protection.
    3. Make sure electronic equipment is turned off before plugging it into the surge protector's outlets. Do not use extension cords to connect equipment to the surge protector.
    4. Connected equipment can now be turned on.
    5. When unplugging devices, hold the surge protector firmly against the wall to prevent it from pulling loose.

Note: Periodically check the blue "PROTECTED" indicator light. A glowing blue light shows surge protection is active. If the light stops glowing, the surge protective components have expired and power has been permanently shut off to the outlets to ensure your equipment remains protected from surges going forward.

    Limited-Lifetime Warranty

Jasco Products Company warrants this surge protector to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the surge protector. If a defect arises, Jasco will repair or replace the unit at its discretion, without charge. This warranty does not cover damage from lightning, accident, misuse, or alteration.

Like all surge protectors, this unit has a finite lifespan — even without defects, the component capacity eventually expires, at which point it stops providing surge protection and the limited-lifetime warranty is no longer valid; the unit should be replaced.

    Warranty Replacement Procedure

    1. Call the Jasco Products Company Customer Information Center at 1-800-654-8483 to obtain a Return Authorization Number (RA#), shipping instructions, and a prepaid return address label.
    2. After receiving the prepaid label, return the surge protector, freight prepaid, to Jasco Products Company. The RA# must be included in the mailing address for it to be accepted.
    3. Include your name, address, phone number, sales receipt copy, and a description of the problem.

    Connected Equipment Warranty

Maximum Warranty Amount: $100,000 (USD). Note: this device is not a lightning arrestor and will not protect against a direct lightning strike on nearby power lines, the house, service entrance, or antenna. The warranty is void if a power disturbance damages equipment through phone, coax, or network lines connected outside the surge protector.

Jasco will pay up to the maximum warranty amount to repair or replace equipment (up to fair market value or original purchase price, whichever is less) damaged by a transient surge (excluding direct lightning) while properly and directly connected to this surge protector.

    Qualifying Conditions

    • All connected equipment must be UL and/or CSA approved.
    • The surge protector must be plugged into a properly wired, grounded outlet — no extension cords, adapters, or additional ground wires/connectors (except other approved Jasco 120V products). Installation must comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
    • Any claim must be made within 15 days of the alleged damage.

    Coverage Requirements

    • All eligible equipment must be plugged directly into the surge protector — equipment connected to protected equipment but not plugged directly into the protector is not covered.
    • The damage must result from a covered power disturbance that passed through the surge protector, and the surge protector itself must show damage from that disturbance.
    • The surge protector's protection capacity must not have already been exceeded.

    Claim Procedure

    1. Call 1-800-654-8483 for an RA#, shipping instructions, and a prepaid return label.
    2. Return the surge protector (with RA# in the mailing address) to Jasco.
    3. Jasco determines coverage; if approved, they will repair the equipment, replace it with equivalent or better, or reimburse fair market value or original purchase price (with dated proof of purchase).
    4. Jasco reserves the right to require the damaged equipment be sent in for inspection.

This warranty is secondary to any existing manufacturer's warranty, extended warranty, or insurance coverage on the connected equipment. Jasco disclaims liability for incidental or consequential damages, including data/software loss or business interruption costs (some states do not allow this exclusion, so it may not apply to you).
