Application note describing how to configure the FortrezZ MIMOlite Binary Sensor reporting capability with the HomeSeer HS2 Z-Wave controller.
This application note explains how to use the FortrezZ MIMOlite's Binary Sensor reporting capability with the HomeSeer HS2 Z-Wave controller. The MIMOlite Module is a Z-Wave interface/bridge module capable of converting a wired or wireless input into a wired or wireless output, and is compatible with other Z-Wave certified products. It's also capable of Pulse Count reporting and wireless control of its internal relay, but this note covers only Binary Sensor reporting.
This description applies only to the FortrezZ MIMOlite with software version v1.14 or greater. In HS2, verify the version by checking that '10E H' (or later, such as '10F H') is displayed in the Product Type field on the 'Z-Wave Node Who Am I' screen (Interfaces tab → Node Info button).
The MIMOlite automatically sends a Binary Sensor Report to a node configured via Association Group 4 (HS2 method). Earlier MIMOlite versions must use Association Group 1, which sends a Basic Set Report, or the controller must be configured to periodically poll the module. This note assumes an operational Z-Wave network using HomeSeer HS2 as the controller (a separate application note covers HS3).
