User manual for the Flic Twist (R-TW-01) — a smart, adhesive-mounted push-and-rotate dial that pairs with a Flic Hub to control smart lighting scenes, brightness, color, and other home automation actions.
Flic Twist is simple and intuitive, wildly configurable, and can be placed anywhere. Push and Rotate are easy to use and understand — unlock advanced modes by pushing and rotating at the same time.
Before setup, make sure you have:
For up-to-date requirements, visit flic.io/start.
Note: Do not hold the Flic Twist in your hand during normal operation — keep a separation distance of at least 20cm.
When setting up the Twist, connect it to your Flic Hub using the Flic App to add it. Make sure the Twist is within Bluetooth range of the Hub — up to 50m (150ft), though range can vary greatly depending on the environment.
Each Twist comes with a reusable adhesive sticker pre-attached to the back. Peel off the protective layer and stick your Twist on any clean surface.
To reposition it, twist the button to the right to exert horizontal force, making it easier to remove the adhesive. Note: the adhesive is very strong — removing it may damage the mounted surface. The Twist can also be wall-mounted using the included magnetic wall mount and screw.
If the adhesive loses its stickiness:
The Twist is not waterproof — do not rinse, submerge, or use it underwater; this causes irreversible damage outside the scope of the warranty. Do not use solvents, chemicals, or abrasive cleaners on the adhesive.
Flic Twist uses two replaceable AAA batteries that last up to 2 years (rechargeable AAA batteries are also supported).
Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.
This removes all pairings and returns the Twist to factory default.
