    Overview

    The FIBARO RGBW Controller 2 (FGRGBW-442) is a universal, Z-Wave Plus compatible RGB/RGBW controller. It uses a PWM signal to control LED strips (single-color, RGB, RGBW), LED lamps, halogen lamps, and other resistive loads, and can also measure active power and energy consumed by the connected load. Controlled devices may be powered by 12V or 24V DC. Inputs support momentary/toggle switches and 0–10V analog sensors such as temperature, humidity, or light sensors.

    Warnings

    • The device is powered with a safe voltage; nevertheless installation should be performed carefully or by a qualified person.
    • Connect only in accordance with one of the diagrams presented in the manual. Incorrect connection may cause risk to health, life, or material damage.
    • The FIBARO RGBW Controller 2 and the load connected to its output must be powered by a stabilized 12VDC or 24VDC power supply with short-circuit protection. Connecting a higher or mismatched voltage may cause damage to the device.
    • Connecting long RGBW/RGB/LED strips may cause voltage drops, resulting in lower brightness further from the outputs. To minimize this, connect several shorter strips in parallel rather than one long strip in series.
    • The device is designed for installation in a wall switch box with a depth of at least 60mm. The switch box and electrical connectors must comply with relevant national safety standards.
    • Do not expose to moisture, water, or other liquids. Indoor use only.
    • Not a toy — keep away from children and animals.

    Wiring / Connection Types

    The device supports four example connection configurations, selected according to the load being controlled:

    • A — Connection with an RGBW LED strip
    • B — Connection with one-color LED strips
    • C — Connection with halogen lights
    • D — Connection with 0–10V analog sensors or potentiometers

    Terminal layout: 12/24V DC power supply, switch, RGBW LED strip, one-color LED strip, halogen light, 3-wire 0–10V analog sensor, 2-wire 0–10V analog sensor, configurable pull-up resistor, and a B (service) button.

    Basic Activation of the Device

    1. Switch off the power supply.
    2. Open the wall switch box.
    3. Connect the device in accordance with one of the wiring diagrams above.
    4. Switch on the power supply.
    5. Set the main Z-Wave controller into adding mode.
    6. Quickly click the B-button three times.
    7. Wait for the device to be added into the system.
    8. Successful adding will be confirmed by the controller.
    9. Close the wall switch box.

    Default Operation

    • 1 click: restore last state / set to 0%
    • 2 clicks: set to 100%
    • Hold: brighten/dim color
