ELK-WK1 — Wall Mount Kit for ELK-SL1 Strobe Manual

Installation instructions for the ELK-WK1 Wall Mount Kit for the ELK-SL1 Strobe — an adapter kit that allows the ELK-SL1 strobe light to be mounted directly to a wall on a single-gang box, 2-gang box, or a plain wall without a conduit box.

Strobe Wall Mount Installation

1. Single or 2-gang box installation: Install the adapter plate as shown — usually the best centering and fit comes from installing the adapter plate in the standard position.
2. Plain wall without a conduit box: Follow the alternate mounting method shown in the circled inset of the instructions.
3. Connect the RED (12V+) and BLACK (–) wires from the strobe to a non-pulsed "Alarm" output or "Violation" output. Most pulsed outputs will also operate the strobe, but the flash rate will be slightly erratic.

Included Parts Notes

• Two items included with the strobe kit are not used with a stand-alone wall-mount installation:
  • The screw retainer washer is not used and should be removed.
  • The clear plastic wiring guide is not needed but may be left in place, simply "stuffed" into the strobe's wiring cavity.
• For single wall boxes: the left-most ¼-20 hole provides the best centering.
• For 2-gang boxes: the right-hand ¼-20 hole provides the best centering.
• For a "no box" wall mount: the installer may substitute a mounting screw matching the particular screw anchor being used.

Final Mounting Steps

1. Carefully align the strobe vertically. Using a 3/16" hex (Allen) wrench, tighten the mounting screw, then snap the white plastic cover in place.
2. Installation is complete once the cover is snapped on.
