Installation and programming instructions for the ELK-319KF4 Wireless 4-Button Keyfob — arm/disarm your alarm system remotely, with two additional programmable buttons.

Description

The ELK-319KF4 is a wireless 4-button handheld remote used to arm or disarm an alarm system. Two additional buttons can be used for other functions depending on the control panel's programming (e.g. panic, aux trigger, lighting). It sends low-battery alerts and is powered by a single replaceable 3VDC lithium coin-cell battery. Compatible with Elk's 319MHz receivers/panels and other panels operating on 319.5MHz adhering to the ITI/Interlogix protocol.

Specifications

Programming (Enrollment)

1. Place the panel into Program mode and proceed to the Wireless Setup menu.
2. Select the appropriate zone/sensor location number.
3. Start the Enroll process. When prompted to trip the sensor, press the ARM and DISARM buttons at the same time. The panel should acknowledge enrollment via keypad display or audio alert. If it fails, repeat the process.
4. Repeat for additional keyfobs and assign each sensor's zone definition.
5. Exit programming mode when finished.

Testing

Wireless Range Testing

1. Place the panel into Walk Test mode.
2. Monitor the keypad display while pressing the button (some panels show signal strength).
3. Walk away from the panel/receiver and test at various locations, confirming acknowledgment.
4. Exit Walk Test mode when finished.

Operational Testing

Notify your central monitoring station before operational testing.

1. Press Lock (Arm) — system should arm to Away mode.
2. Press Unlock (Disarm) — system should disarm.
3. Press Lock + Unlock together — panic alarm should sound (if programmed).
4. Press the Light button — toggles lights if programmed.
5. Press the Star button — many panels allow an auxiliary operation for this button.

Battery Replacement

Low-battery trouble is transmitted when the battery needs replacing. Replace within 7 days of the low-battery indication.

1. Separate the two halves of the plastic case by inserting a coin or small screwdriver into the side slot; gently twist to pop it open.
2. Carefully remove the circuit board with a small pick or knife edge.
3. The old battery should drop out of its holder.
4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing down, away from the circuit board (unmarked side facing you).
5. Carefully replace the circuit board, covering the battery, and snap the case shut.
6. Replace the cover and test-activate the device at least twice.

Battery warning: risk of fire, explosion, and burns. Do not attempt to recharge or disassemble. Do not incinerate or expose to heat above 212°F (100°C). Dispose of used batteries properly; keep away from children.
