Ecolink WST-802 — 8-Zone Wireless Transmitter Installation Instructions

Overview

The Ecolink WST-802 is an 8-zone wireless transmitter that converts up to 8 normally-closed hardwired contacts into 8 independent wireless zones. It's ideal for panel takeovers or situations where contacts are prewired but not near the control panel. The unit is 100% battery-powered, so it can be placed virtually anywhere. Devices requiring power (e.g. a motion detector) need a separate power supply — either the existing control panel or a standalone supply.

Enrolling Zones

The WST-802 has one serial number printed on the back of the unit — this is the serial number for zone 1. Each subsequent zone adds 1 to the last digit (e.g. if zone 1's serial is 033 4561, zone 2 is 033 4562, and so on).

To enroll zones, put the control panel in learn mode and either:

• Enter the corresponding serial number directly, or
• Trigger the desired zone by shorting and opening it twice when prompted by the control panel.

If manually entering the serial number, ensure zones are configured to use Loop 2.

Important: Zone 1 must always be installed, since that zone ID is used to transmit low-battery and case-tamper signals for the entire WST-802 unit. If a supervisory fault occurs, every enrolled zone on the unit will report the fault.

Mounting

Wall-mounting hardware is included. Choose a location that works well for both the hardwired contacts and stays within wireless range of the control panel.

Replacing the Battery

When the battery runs low, a signal is sent via the zone 1 serial number to the control panel.

1. Remove the top cover to reveal the battery. (This will trigger a tamper signal at the control panel.)
2. Replace both CR123A batteries, ensuring correct polarity as shown on the device.
3. Re-attach the cover — you should hear a click when it engages properly.

Warranty

Ecolink Intelligent Technology Inc. warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover damage from shipping/handling, accident, abuse, misuse, ordinary wear, improper maintenance, or unauthorized modification. Ecolink will repair or replace defective units (at its option) upon return to the original point of purchase; maximum liability is limited to replacement of the defective product.
