Installation instructions for the DataComm Electronics 45-0016 Décor Insert with Flexible Opening, a low-voltage cable pass-through for concealing wiring behind a wall-mounted TV or AV device.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation instructions for the DataComm Electronics 45-0016 Décor Insert with Flexible Opening — used to route low-voltage cables behind a wall-mounted HDTV, amplifier, or other AV device. Mounts onto a low-voltage mounting bracket (sold separately) that is installed into the wall.

    Important Notes

    • Designed for low-voltage cable use only.
    • Do not run or pull a TV cord or other electrical cords inside the wall — running power/extension cords behind the wall violates the National Electric Code (NEC).

    Tools Needed

    Phillips head screwdriver.

    Installation Steps

    1. Before installing the Décor Insert, first install a low-voltage mounting bracket (sold separately) into the wall, per the bracket's own instructions.
    2. Run up to four (4) low-voltage A/V cables through the opening in the low-voltage mounting bracket, then through the opening of the Décor Insert.
    3. Place the Décor Insert against the low-voltage mounting bracket and secure it in place with the two (2) included screws.
    4. For a finished look, install a décor wall plate (sold separately) over the Décor Insert.

    Safety Warnings

    • Never install low-voltage wiring during lightning storms.
    • Never touch un-insulated wires or terminals unless disconnected at the network interface.
    • Use caution when installing or modifying data or telecommunication lines.
    • Do not alter, change, or disconnect existing telecommunication wires if you are unsure of their purpose or function.
    • Not recommended for installation in close proximity to an electrical service panel, to avoid interference from electrical current.
