    • The installation is only energized when the supplied 6 ft. cord is plugged into the recessed straight blade inlet, and the other end into your surge protector or wall receptacle.
    • If you're not familiar with home wiring systems, call a qualified electrician.
    • Only licensed professionals should install this product.

    Installation — New Construction

Use a new-construction nail-on box and follow the remaining steps from the retrofit instructions below.

    Installation — Retrofit

    1. Select the mounting location for your TV bracket, then choose locations for both the Recessed Cable Plate with Power and the Recessed Cable Plate with Straight Blade Inlet — both plates mount between two studs. Use the supplied template to trace and cut the drywall openings.
    2. Remember this kit is not part of your home's permanent electrical wiring. Before installing the retrofit workboxes, pull a piece of 12/2 or 14/2 with ground UL-approved building wire between the two openings, long enough to allow easy installation. Insert and securely fasten a single-gang retrofit workbox at each opening.
    3. Connect the Recessed Cable Plate with Power's receptacle to the pulled building wire: strip ~3" of outer jacket (careful not to cut inner wire jackets), connect hot (black) to the brass terminal screw, neutral (white) to the silver terminal screw, and ground (green/bare) to the green terminal screw.
    4. Insert the wired receptacle plate flush into the retrofit workbox, fasten with the supplied white screws, then tighten the wing screws to secure it against the back of the drywall. Route A/V cables through the opening to the other plate's opening.
    5. Connect the Recessed Cable Plate with Straight Blade Inlet to the building wire using the three supplied wire nuts: hot (black) to black, neutral (white) to white, ground (green/bare) to ground. Fasten tightly. Route A/V cables through this plate too, then insert and secure the same way as the power plate. Keep the building wire separated from the A/V cables.
    6. Install your flat panel TV mounting bracket per the bracket manufacturer's instructions.
    7. Plug your TV/projector into the Recessed Cable Plate with Power. Plug the supplied 6 ft. cord's female end into the Recessed Cable Plate with Straight Blade Inlet, and the male end into your surge protector or wall receptacle.
    8. Both the receptacle and inlet must be properly grounded for shock protection.
    9. Use copper wire only with this receptacle and inlet.
