  • Danalock Universal Module V3 β€” User Guide

    September 08, 2026 3 min read

User guide for the Danalock Universal Module V3 β€” controls any 12-24V powered door strike, magnetic lock, or gate mechanism via Bluetooth and/or Z-Wave, using the Danalock app.

    Full text manual (for reference)

    Overview

The Danalock Universal Module V3 controls any 12–24V powered commercial locking mechanism β€” door strikes, electromechanical or magnetic locks, gates, and similar devices. It works in parallel with existing wiring or can be installed fresh. It has two relay outputs plus one power output, controllable remotely via the Danalock app (Android 4.4.4+ and iOS 9.0+ / iPhone 4S+) over Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 and/or Z-Wave.

    Relay Mode

The two relays operate in parallel or independently. Each relay can run for a set duration (1–180 seconds) or stay activated permanently. Relay 2 activation can be delayed after Relay 1 activates, and each relay can be individually configured for timed or permanent operation.

    Technical Specifications

Operating voltage 12–24V DC, 12–24V AC
    Max input (at 24V) 100mA
    Number of relays 2
    Relay type Potential-free contacts (NO/NC)
Max AC power / current 1A at 12V
    Max relay voltage 48V
Wireless Bluetooth 4.0 LE / Z-Wave Plus (optional)
    Bluetooth range 5–10 meters

    Wiring β€” Terminal Reference

    Wire Color Function
    Black Power output, 12–24V AC/DC, 1A
    Brown Ground
    Red Relay 1: Normally open
    Orange Relay 1: Common
    Yellow Relay 1: Normally closed
    Green Relay 2: Normally open
    Blue Relay 2: Common
    Violet Relay 2: Normally closed
    Grey Power input, 12–24V AC/DC, 1A
    White Ground input, 12–24V AC/DC, 1A

For a magnetic door lock or door strike installation, the Grey and White wires connect to the lock's own 12/24V input and ground lines respectively, in addition to the standard power/relay wiring above.

    Installation

    1. Connect the Universal Module to the relevant motor/lock drive per the wiring diagram above.
    2. Important: connect the Module to a smartphone during installation. Whoever registers as owner first is the only one who can control the door/gate and grant access to other users β€” so claim ownership immediately.
    3. Follow the Danalock App User Guide (danalock.com/?page_id=2894) to pair the module with your smartphone.
    4. During setup you'll be asked to set the Relay time. Check the motorized lock's own user guide for its recommended pulse time (commonly 1 second β€” the module defaults to 1 second). Relay time can be changed later under app settings.

    Ownership & Access Sharing

The full Danalock App User Guide (danalock.com/?page_id=2894) covers sharing access with other users. To change the module's owner/administrator, delete the module from the app first, then pair it with the new owner's account.

Caution: only delete the module from your keychain while within Bluetooth range. If out of range, you'll need to physically reset the module using the touch button (see below) β€” a reset on a built-in solution may require locksmith assistance and incur additional cost.

    Touch Button Commands

The gold-colored touch button is located in one corner of the circuit board.

    Action Result
Short press Switches the relay off
Hold β€” 1 flash Switches the relays off
Hold β€” 2 flashes Puts the module in Z-Wave inclusion mode
Hold β€” 5 flashes Resets the key
Hold β€” 10 flashes Factory reset of all key and relay settings

    Remote Access & Integration

    • Danabridge: since the module is only accessible while in Bluetooth range, use a spare smartphone or tablet as a Danabridge for remote access β€” see danalock.com/?page_id=2981.
    • Z-Wave: the Universal Module (Z-Wave variant) is compatible with a wide range of Z-Wave gateways β€” see danalock.com/?page_id=2597.
