Dakota Alert WR-3000 — Wireless Receiver Owner's Manual

Owner's manual for the Dakota Alert WR-3000 Wireless Receiver — a plug-in wireless doorbell/alert receiver used with Dakota Alert 3000 series transmitters (WMT-3000, WPT-3000, WHT-3000).

Overview

The WR-3000 receiver plugs into a standard wall outlet and can sit on a table or mount on a wall. When it gets a signal from a paired transmitter, one of four selectable tones (Classical, Westminster Chime, Ding Dong, Whistle) sounds for a few seconds. It has a volume control, four Form "C" relays (one per zone), and one 12VDC output terminal that activates when a signal is received. The channel-1 relay and 12VDC output can optionally be set to stay active for 10 minutes instead of the default few seconds.

Operation

1. Connect the power supply to the receiver.
2. Plug the power supply into a wall outlet.
3. Locate the off/on switch and move it to "on."
4. Press the "test" button on the side of the receiver to check volume level, then rotate the volume knob to the desired level.

Coding the Receiver

1. Open the receiver case by inserting a small screwdriver into one of the pry notches on the side.
2. Gently lift off the front cover.
3. Locate the 8 dip switches on the receiver and set them identically to the first 8 dip switches on the transmitter. If more than one transmitter is used with the receiver, the first 8 dip switches of every transmitter must match the receiver's 8 switches.

Note: Whenever the time jumper or dip switches are changed, turn the receiver "OFF" and back "ON" for the change to take effect.

Coding the Transmitter

1. Locate the dip switches on the 3000 series transmitter (refer to the transmitter's own manual).
2. The first 8 dip switches set the frequency (256 combinations) — match them to the receiver's first 8 switches.
3. Switches 9 & 10 set the zone/channel:

Tone, Relay & Voltage Output

• Each of the four transmitter zones (set via switches 9 & 10) sounds a tone and activates the corresponding relay on the receiver.
• Each Form "C" relay is rated for 24VDC at 3 Amp maximum current.
• The 12VDC output activates only when the transmitter is set to zone 1. Output duration is 4 seconds by default, at up to 400mA maximum current.
• To change the channel-1 relay and 12VDC output duration from 4 seconds to 10 minutes, move the jumper on the upper right corner of the circuit board so it covers only one pin (covering both pins = 4 seconds).

Range & Placement

For maximum range between transmitter and receiver, mount the receiver horizontally on a wall as high off the floor as possible. Maximum range is about 3000 feet, but hills, trees, metal siding, and stucco can all reduce it.

Dakota Alert warrants this product to be free of defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage from accident, abuse, act of God, or improper operation. If the product becomes defective, return it to Dakota Alert with a note describing the problem, your name and return address, and the original sales receipt. Covered defects are repaired or replaced at no charge; you'll be notified of any charges if the issue isn't covered.
