Instruction manual for the Dakota Alert FMS-1000 wireless entry mat — a battery-powered pressure mat that sends a wireless alert signal to a receiver whenever someone steps on it.

    Parts & Function

The entry mat has a transmitter pocket that houses the wireless transmitter. The receiver has LED zone indicators, a "Learning" button for pairing, and a "Melody" button for selecting one of 18 chime tones.

    Battery Installation

    1. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket on the mat.
    2. Open the battery compartment with a small screwdriver.
    3. Insert 2 CR2032 batteries.
    4. Close the battery cover and put the transmitter back in the transmitter pocket.

    Operation

Place the entry mat at the entrance. Place a rug on top of the mat to protect the sensor. The sensor transmits a signal to the receiver whenever someone steps on the mat.

    Code Matching & Tone Selection

    1. Insert the batteries in the transmitter and receiver.
    2. Press and hold the "Learning" button on the receiver for 3 seconds. LED #1 will flash, indicating zone 1 is ready to be programmed. To program zones 2-4, press "Learning" again to cycle through each zone.
    3. Press the "Melody" button to select one of 18 melodies/tones.
    4. Activate the transmitter by stepping on the entry mat to learn the new code.

If coding is successful, the chime will generate a short tone. If a different LED lights up, that transmitter is already programmed on that zone. The siren sound is intended for panic-button use and will sound for one minute.

Deleting a Transmitter from Chime Memory

    1. Enter learning mode by pressing and holding "Learning" for 3 seconds.
    2. Press "Learning" to select the zone to delete.
    3. Press and hold both "Learning" and "Melody" together for 3 seconds. The chime generates a tone confirming the remote on that zone has been deleted.

Changing the Melody/Tone on a Zone

    1. Enter learning mode by pressing and holding "Learning" for 3 seconds.
    2. Press "Learning" to select the zone to change.
    3. Press "Melody" to select the new tone, then push the remote button for that zone. A confirmation tone indicates the melody has been changed.

    Reset Button

Pressing the "Reset" button stops the chime and light after the unit has been activated.

    Code Conflict

If the entry mat's sensor code happens to match another sensor's code, change the mat's code:

    1. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket on the mat.
    2. Open the battery compartment with a small Phillips screwdriver.
    3. Remove the 2 CR2032 batteries.
    4. Step on the mat and reinstall the batteries. The LED will flash 5 times when a new code is generated.
