    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation instructions for the Chief TS110SU and TS118SU Small Thinstall™ Swing Arm wall mounts. This manual is heavily illustrated with dimensional drawings, hardware diagrams, and step-by-step figures — the diagrams below summarize the key steps; see the full downloadable PDF for illustrated reference.

    Important Warnings

    • Structural strength: the wall structure must support 5× the combined weight of all mounted equipment. Reinforce the structure before installing if needed. Maximum drywall thickness is 5/8" (1.6cm) when mounting to wood studs.
    • Do NOT install to a concrete wall of any kind that has a drywall covering.
    • Weight capacity: combined weight of all attached components must not exceed 35 lbs (15.9 kg). Exceeding this can cause the mount to collapse.
    • Designed for mounting to: 8" concrete, 8"×8"×16" concrete block, clay brick, or 2"×4" wood studs (16" on center).
    • Never install into cracked, chipped, or flaking concrete.
    • Never operate a damaged mounting system — return it to a service center for examination and repair.
    • Indoor use only — do not use this product outdoors.

    Compatible Mounting Patterns

    75×75mm, 100×100mm, 200×100mm, and 200×200mm VESA display patterns.

    Tools Required

    • 1/8" drill bit (wood studs) or 8mm drill bit (concrete)
    • 7/16" (11.1mm) wrench
    • #2 Phillips screwdriver

    Installation Overview

    1. Mount the Main Assembly to the Wall

    Wood studs:

    1. Locate a wood stud with a stud finder.
    2. Mark a hole 2-5/8" above the desired center line (TS110SU) or 1" below it (TS118SU).
    3. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole at the mark.
    4. Install a 1/4"×2-1/2" lag bolt, leaving it hanging out 1/2" from the wall.
    5. Hang the main assembly onto the bolt via its key-shaped hole.
    6. Mark, remove the assembly, and drill the lower mounting hole; re-hang and install the second lag bolt.
    7. Tighten both lag bolts fully.

Concrete block, poured concrete, or clay brick:

    1. Mark the upper hole location (same offsets as above), drill an 8mm hole.
    2. Install a concrete anchor, then a 1/4"×2-1/2" lag bolt into the anchor (leave 1/2" exposed).
    3. Hang the main assembly on the bolt; mark, remove, drill, and anchor the lower hole; re-hang and secure with the second lag bolt.
    4. Tighten both lag bolts fully.

    2. Attach the Display

    1. Select screw diameter (4mm/5mm/6mm) to match the display's VESA mounting holes.
    2. Select screw length so it threads fully without bottoming out against the inside of the display.
    3. Use washers with M4/M5 screws for a tight fit; use 1/4" spacers (multiple per screw if needed) for recessed mounting holes or extra clearance.
    4. Hang the display on two upper screws through the faceplate's teardrop holes, then install the remaining two lower screws.
    5. Tighten all hardware to fully secure the display.

    3. Install the Wall Cover

    1. Pull apart the top section of the wall cover (TS110SU) or bottom section (TS118SU) to fit it over the main assembly arm.
    2. Latch the cover's holes over the tabs on the main assembly.

    4. Cable Management

    1. Make all cable connections to the display first.
    2. Open the cable management covers on the upper (and, for TS118SU, lower) swing arms.
    3. Route cables along the top of the upper arm (and under the lower arm for TS118SU).
    4. Optionally secure cables with zip ties (not included) through the cable-tie holes inside the covers.
    5. Close the cable management covers.

    5. Tension & Friction Adjustment

    • Tilt friction: adjust the tilt friction screws on both sides of the pitch mechanism evenly to increase or decrease resistance.
    • Arm tension: use a 3/16" hex key at the arm tension adjustment points to tighten or loosen swing-arm movement.
