Instruction manual for the ChannelPlus (Multiplex Technology) Model 2010 Power Injector, used to remotely power a multi-room video distribution coax panel and pass IR signals over coax.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Instruction manual for the ChannelPlus (Multiplex Technology) Model 2010 Power Injector, a component of the Performance Multi-Room Video system used to power the coax panel and pass IR signals over coaxial cable.

Remote Power Using the Model 2010

With remote power, the coax panel can be placed close to the output coax lines — in the attic, basement, or garage. The Model 2010 Power Injector must be connected to the (PWR) port. It supports up to 8 TVs downstream through a modulator/CATV or antenna feed.

Note: The 2010 has a built-in circuit breaker. If the LEDs on connected 2100A IR interfaces are not glowing, unplug the power supply, then plug it back in to reset the breaker.

    Correct vs. Incorrect Connections

Attention: Incorrect connections can damage the 3308 or 2010.

    • Correct: You may connect a 2100A IR interface or a DC-block directly to a 3308. TVs without a 2100A, or a splitter without IR, must have a DC-block installed between it and the 3308.
    • Incorrect: Connecting a splitter or a 75-ohm terminator DIRECTLY to a 3308 will cause the circuit breaker to trip.

Sending IR Signals on the Coax

If you need to add IR capability but cannot change to a full coaxial cable panel, you can build an RF passive IR repeating system by adding targets and emitters:

    • Connect emitters to the 2010 Power Injector or to any 2100A IR interface in the system.
    • Connect targets to any 2100A IR interface in the system.
    • Use IR-passing splitters only (e.g. model 2512 or 2514).
    • Use a DC-block when NOT using a 2100A IR interface.
