Channel Vision TE-111 — Telephone Entry Controller Instructions

Installation and setup instructions for the Channel Vision TE-111 Telephone Entry Controller, which connects a front door intercom to any telephone in the house.

Overview

The TE-111 provides communication between the front door and any phone in the house. When a visitor presses the doorbell button, the phones in the house respond with a distinctive ring. The homeowner can then speak with the visitor by answering any ringing phone.

Basic Installation Steps

1. Mount the TE-111 near the main telephone distribution center of the house and attach the telephone line from the service provider to the connection labeled "Line".
2. Connect the main house phone distribution system to the wire terminals labeled "Tel".
3. Connect the TE-111 to the Channel Vision DP or IU series door plate. Note: the correct companion board to use is 300-001 (300001).
4. Connect the power supply (12VAC, 500mA).

Basic Configuration

Configure DIP switches S4 and S5 to select the desired ring pattern, and switch S6 to either # or * to determine which key activates the system.

*Value varies slightly between manual sections (100 vs 120 seconds) — verify against your unit's printed DIP switch label.

S4/S5 select the number of rings ("2x3 ring pattern" style option), and S6 determines whether # or * activates the door speaker key-on.

Basic Operation

• When you hear the distinctive ring pattern: within 20 seconds, simply pick up the telephone to be connected to the door speaker.
• After 20 seconds, pick up the telephone and press ## (or **) to be connected to the door speaker.
• If you're already on the phone when the doorbell button is pressed, you'll hear a call-waiting tone — press ## (or **) to put your call on hold while connected to the door speaker, then press it again to return to your call.

TE110DS Electronic Door Strike Option

The TE110DS is an optional relay (sold separately) that works with the TE-111 to control an electronic door opener/strike.

Installation

1. Complete the basic TE-111 installation first.
2. Connect the TE110DS in-line between the main board and small board.

Configuration

Configure switches S1, S2, and S3 on the TE110DS to select the duration of the relay closure (same 3/5/8/15/20/40/120/240-second table as above).

Operation

• To close the door strike relay while already communicating with the door speaker: press #7 (or *7).
• To close the door strike relay without first communicating with the door speaker: press ## (or **) and then press #7 (or *7).

Front Door / Back Door (Two-Door) Application

Two TE-111 units can be combined to serve two entry doors from the same house phone system.

Installation

1. Complete the basic installation on the first TE-111, setting it to respond to the # key.
2. Connect the house phones output from the first TE-111 to the "Line" input on the second TE-111.
3. Configure the second TE-111 to respond to the * key.
4. Set both units to different distinctive ring patterns so you can tell which door is calling.

Operation

Within 20 seconds of hearing the ring, simply pick up the phone to connect. After 20 seconds, pick up and press ## for the front door speaker or ** for the back door speaker.
