Instruction manual for the Channel Vision IR-2400, IR-2105, IR-2202, and IR-2301 IR receivers.
Instruction manual for the Channel Vision IR-2400, IR-2105, IR-2202, and IR-2301 IR Receivers — a family of infrared receivers for whole-house distributed IR control systems.
The IR-2400, IR-2105, IR-2202, and IR-2301 IR receivers detect signals from infrared remote controls, allowing them to be distributed to a whole-house IR control system. All models include optical and electronic filtering to reject interference from fluorescent lamps and plasma displays.
IR repeating lets you control devices that aren't within direct line of sight of the remote control — common in distributed audio/video systems where source components are centrally located. The IR receiver is wired to an IR hub (such as the P-1205 distribution hub), which routes the signal to IR emitters placed directly over each target component's IR sensor. Mount the receiver where it will be visible to your remote control; point the remote at the receiver, and the emitter repeats the signal at the component.
It may be necessary to limit the receiver's field of view if there is IR noise in the room — common sources include sunlight, fluorescent lights, or plasma TV screens.
Typical IR receiver wire pinout (ribbon cable, ref. only): Signal → Tip, Ground → Collar, +V → Ring (white dash marks +V on the ribbon cable). To extend wiring beyond the standard length, cut and splice in a longer 3-conductor wire (CAT5 works fine) following the same pinout.
