Manual for the Channel Vision A0327 Bluetooth 4.2 Receiver Module (ARIA Audio System) — an in-wall/rack Bluetooth streaming receiver that pairs with a smartphone, tablet, or computer and feeds an ARIA amplifier or distribution hub for whole-home audio.

Overview

The A0327 ARIA Audio streaming receiver provides a local wireless (Bluetooth 4.2) connection for streaming audio from smartphones, tablets, and computers to ARIA Audio equipped systems. Pairing through the ARIA Audio Android or iOS app lets streamed music (iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, etc.) play in that zone. The connection stays active until unpaired or the source device goes out of range; ARIA enters a power-saving "deep sleep" mode after a period of no use and automatically reconnects when back in range, following the user between zones. The system also supports multi-room installations playing simultaneously in all zones.

Key features: melody 3D surround sound and bass boost audio enhancements, deep sleep power-saving mode, customizable zone naming, security code settings, and a property management mobile app reset control.

Operation

To pair to the A0327, download the Android or iOS ARIA app. In pair mode, the two LEDs on the front of the receiver will flash; the Bluetooth device name is "ARIA." Once paired, a slow green LED flashes every 3 seconds. For systems with multiple A0327 units, it's recommended to rename each unit to easily identify each room.

Operating Range

In ideal line-of-sight conditions, range can be up to 147 feet. This distance can be reduced significantly by interference from other communication devices, electrical wiring, and room construction materials such as brick walls and concrete floors. Near maximum range, the signal may intermittently drop as signal strength varies.

Volume Level Compatibility

Output level from streaming sources (phones/computers) can vary by brand. The A0327 is calibrated to match most devices, but if levels differ, use the source device's own volume control to match the main audio source's level.

Room Identification

"Aria" is the default Bluetooth streaming source name and can be replaced with a custom zone name (e.g. Bedroom1, Study, Patio) up to 9 characters.

Security Pairing Code

When security password protection is enabled for the first time, download the ARIA Audio app and follow the setup steps. The default passcode is 0000 and can be changed after connecting the app. Room naming and the security pairing code can be changed at any time via the app. A bypass "Link" button is located on the front panel — when security is active, select "Aria" in the phone's Bluetooth list, then press the Link button (next to the red LED) with a pen or paperclip until the light turns green.

Pairing the Mobile Device

When Security Is OFF

1. Confirm the front-plate LED is RED.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone and scan.
3. Select "Aria" from the device list and connect. The LED turns green once connected — you can now play music.

When Security Is ON

1. Confirm the LED is RED.
2. Turn on Bluetooth and scan; select "Aria" from the list. Accept the Bluetooth pairing request.
3. Press and hold the "Link" button on the A0327 until paired — the LED turns GREEN.

Alternative Pairing via the ARIA App

1. Confirm the LED is RED; scan and select "Aria," accept the pairing request.
2. Open the ARIA app, select the Bluetooth icon, then the Refresh icon, and select "Aria" from the device list.
3. Select Settings → Master, enter the passcode (default 0000), and submit.
4. Select Pair. Android users are now paired (LED turns green). iOS users should then go to the phone's Bluetooth settings and select "Aria" to complete the reconnection.

Pairing Multiple Bluetooth Devices

1. With the first device connected (LED green), open the ARIA app and select the Bluetooth icon.
2. Select Refresh and choose "Aria" from the device list.
3. Select Settings, then toggle "Discoverable On." The device is now discoverable for a second device to connect using the same pairing steps.

Changing Security Settings

Turning Security ON

1. Connect to "Aria" in your phone's Bluetooth settings.
2. Open the ARIA app, select the Bluetooth icon (green), then Refresh, then "Aria."
3. Select Settings, then turn ON security (toggle the security button — if already green, cycle it off then on).
4. Close the app. To test: unpair/forget the device in phone Bluetooth settings, then scan and reconnect — it should now require the passcode.

Turning Security OFF

Follow the same steps 1-4 above, tap the security button, enter the current passcode (default 0000), then select SECURITY OFF.

Changing the Passcode (Android)

1. Connect and open Settings → Master in the ARIA app.
2. Enter the current passcode (default 0000) and submit.
3. Select "Change Passcode," enter a new 4-digit passcode, submit, then confirm by entering it again.

Changing the Bluetooth Name

Android: connect to the device, open the ARIA app's Bluetooth icon, refresh and select the device, go to Settings → Bluetooth Name, enter the new name (up to 11 characters), select OK, then Reset (the phone will disconnect). Reconnect using the new name in Bluetooth settings.

iOS: same steps — connect, open Bluetooth icon, refresh, Settings → Bluetooth Name, enter new name (up to 11 characters), select OK, then Reset is required for the name change to take effect. Reconnect using the new name.

Playing Music

Once connected, open any music app to play audio. Music Manager (within the ARIA app) provides audio enhancements including 3D surround sound, bass boost, and an equalizer. To access: connect your device, open the ARIA app, select "Aria" from the device list, then Music Manager → Enhancements to adjust equalizer settings.

Installation

Single Zone Audio

Plug the RJ-45 output of the A0327 Bluetooth receiver into an ARIA Audio amplifier (e.g. the A0350 Flush Mount Amplifier) for a custom-installed, single-zone audio experience.

Multi-Room Application

Using a zone output of the ARIA Audio hub, plug a CAT5 cable into the RJ-45 input of the A0327. Connect the RJ-45 output of the A0327 to the RJ-45 input of the amplifier (A0350). Repeat this for each additional zone.

Main Source Distribution

Using a CAT5 cable, connect the RJ-45 output of the A0327 into the CAT5 audio input of the P-2014 ARIA Audio Distribution Module (4-zone IR distribution hub).

Troubleshooting

Warning: Do not adjust the volume all the way up if no audio is present — doing so could damage your speakers if audio reconnects.
