Instruction manual for the Channel Vision A0304 Audio & IR Control CAT5 Transceiver Kit, sending balanced audio and IR over up to 1,000 ft of CAT5 cable.
Instruction manual for the Channel Vision A0304 Audio & IR Control CAT5 Transceiver Kit, which sends balanced audio and IR signals over up to 1,000 feet of CAT5 cable using decorator-style wall plates.
The A0304 Audio & IR Control CAT5 Transceiver Kit can deliver balanced audio and IR signals over 1,000 ft of CAT5 cable — a convenient way to send noise-free audio over cabling that already exists in the home. The decorator-style wall plates flush-mount into the wall and blend into modern décor. The low cost, simplicity, and availability of CAT5 cable make the A0304 a convenient choice for both new construction and retrofit applications.
A0304 Input Wall Plate — connections: IR Receiver Input, IR Emitter Output, Audio Input, CAT5 Outputs (use only one, not both).
A0304 Output Wall Plate — connections: IR Receiver Input, Power Supply Input, Audio Input, Rear Power Input, Rear Power Loopout, CAT5 Outputs (use only one, not both).
An audio source (e.g., a CD player) connects to the input wall plate's Audio In jacks. The signal travels over CAT5 (up to 1,000 ft.) to the output wall plate, which feeds an audio amplifier. An optional additional IR receiver can be connected at the input side to allow control of the audio device even if it's behind a closed cabinet door; a standalone IR receiver or IR output from a whole-house IR system can be connected at the output side.
When used with an A4623 or A4603 multi-source audio distribution system, connect the RCA outputs to the source "Input" jacks and connect the "IR In" jack to any of the IR Emitter output jacks using an IR-4180 cable. This lets the remote audio source be listened to and controlled from any audio zone — the IR receiver in the audio system keypads passes IR signals back to the input wall plate.
