Chamberlain Universal Wireless Keypad (KLIK2U/KLIK2U-P2/KLIK2C/KLIK2C-P2) — Quick Start Guide

Complete quick-start guide for the Chamberlain Universal Wireless Keypad (Models KLIK2U, KLIK2U-P2, KLIK2C, KLIK2C-P2), including opener compatibility, PIN programming, installation, and battery replacement.

Compatibility

Compatible with Chamberlain, Sears Craftsman, LiftMaster, Master Mechanic, Do It, Genie Intellicode, Overhead Door, Stanley, Wayne Dalton, or Linear garage door openers with a Smart/Learn button. If using with residential door openers, this product must be used only with door openers manufactured after 1993 that use photoelectric sensors (located on or near the bottom of the door track).

Safety Warnings

• Install keypad within sight of the garage door, out of reach of small children at a minimum height of 5 feet (1.5 m) above floors/landings/steps, and away from ALL moving parts of the door.
• ALWAYS keep remote controls out of reach of children. NEVER permit children to operate or play with them.
• Activate the gate or door ONLY when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted, and there are no obstructions to door travel.
• ALWAYS keep the gate or garage door in sight until completely closed. NEVER permit anyone to cross the path of a moving gate or door.

Getting Started

Locate the Learn button on the garage door opener (your opener may look different — the button is typically Green/Red-Orange, Purple, or Yellow).

Determine Your Opener ID

Programming

1. Select and write down a 4-digit PIN.
2. Determine your opener ID using the table above.
3. Press and hold the * and # buttons until the keypad stops flashing.
4. Enter the PIN from step 1, press #.
5. Enter the ID from step 2, press #.
6. Press and release the Smart/Learn button on the garage door opener.
7. Enter your 4-digit PIN and press 0. (For Genie and Overhead Door units, press 0 twice.)
8. To test and use, wait until the lights turn off, enter your PIN, and press 0. If the opener does not function, repeat programming.

Changing Your 4-Digit PIN

Enter existing PIN, press *, enter new PIN, press *. To test, enter the new PIN and press 0. If changing the PIN doesn't work, repeat the programming steps above.

Installation

Install out of reach of small children at a minimum height of 5 feet (1.5 m) above floors/landings/steps, and away from ALL moving parts of the door. Secure the keypad to a smooth surface, mounted out of the path of the moving garage door but within sight of it (4" / 10 cm clearance needed for the cover).

1. Remove the cover.
2. Remove the battery cover to expose the mounting holes.
3. Remove the battery and mount the keypad using the screws provided.
4. Reassemble.

Battery

Warning: Never allow small children near batteries. If a battery is swallowed, immediately notify a doctor.

Replace the 9-Volt battery when the keypad light becomes dim or does not light up. Slide the cover up, remove the battery cover, and replace the battery. Re-programming may be necessary afterward.

To comply with FCC and/or Industry Canada (IC) rules, adjustment or modification of this receiver/transmitter is prohibited except for changing the code setting or replacing the battery. There are no other user-serviceable parts.
