Chamberlain MyQ Smart Garage Hub (MYQ-G0301 series) — Quick Start Guide

Quick start guide for the Chamberlain MyQ Smart Garage™ Hub, models MYQ-G0301, MYQ-G0301C, MYQ-G0301-D, MYQ-G0301-E, and MYQ-G0301LA.

Safety Warning

To reduce the risk of severe injury: do not enable the MyQ Smart Garage Hub if operating either one-piece or swinging doors. It is to be enabled only on a sectional door. Read instructions thoroughly before beginning. If used with a residential door opener, the opener must have been manufactured after 1993 and use photoelectric sensors (typically located on or near the bottom of the door track).

Before You Start, You Must Have…

• A router with 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi®
• A mobile device connected to your home Wi-Fi network
• A compatible garage door opener — see the current list at Chamberlain.com/MyQcompatibility

What's in the Box

• Wi-Fi Hub (with blue, green, and yellow LEDs, and a light)
• Power adapter and mounting bracket
• Hardware for Wi-Fi Hub (5/32" x 1-1/2" screws)
• Door Sensor (Model MYQ-G0302) with red LED and test button
• Fastening strips and hardware for Door Sensor (5/32" x 3/4" screws)
• Warning label

Tools needed: Drill, 5/32" drill bit, screwdriver, ladder.

Installation

1. Check Your Wi-Fi

• Check the Wi-Fi signal in the garage where the Wi-Fi Hub will be mounted, 4 to 5 feet away from the garage door opener.
• Make sure you have two or more Wi-Fi bars of signal strength.
• If there are signal strength issues, see instructional videos at chamberlain.com/wifisupportvideos.

2. Install the Door Sensor

• Remove the pull tab from the sensor to activate the battery.
• Install the door sensor on a clean, dry location on the top panel of the garage door using the fastening strips or provided hardware. The "TOP" label must always face up.
• Note: If using screws, only install into solid wood or insulated doors — do NOT drill through the door.
• Tip: Test the door sensor every 6 months, or if the MyQ system isn't working as expected: press the test button 5 times — the LED should flash and the Wi-Fi Hub should beep each time. If not, replace the door sensor battery with a CR2450.

3. Power Up the Wi-Fi Hub

Find a convenient location and power the Wi-Fi Hub by plugging it in. The blue LED will start blinking.

4. MyQ® App Setup

• Download the Chamberlain MyQ app (if already installed, confirm you have the latest version).
• Create an account or sign in, and follow the in-app instructions.
• Detailed setup instructions are available online at Chamberlain.com/MyQsupport.

iOS Devices — Alternate Step 4

If using an iOS device, follow these steps instead of step 4 above:

1. Make sure the blue LED on the Wi-Fi Hub is blinking.
2. On your mobile device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the network with the "MyQ-nnn" prefix.
3. Launch a web browser on your smartphone or tablet and enter setup.myqdevice.com in the address bar. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the Wi-Fi Hub to your home Wi-Fi network.
4. Download the MyQ app, set up an account, and add the MyQ serial number (located on the cover of the printed manual) to your account.

5. Install the Wi-Fi Hub

• After completing all steps in the Chamberlain MyQ app, install the Wi-Fi Hub on the ceiling, 4 to 5 feet away from the garage door opener.
• Plug it in and confirm the green LED is solid (not blinking).
• The Wi-Fi Hub light must be visible when standing in the doorway of the garage.
• Tip: Wrap excess power adapter cable around the mounting bracket.

6. Apply Warning Label

Attach the included warning label to the wall next to the door control.

The Chamberlain Group, Inc. warrants to the first consumer purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and/or workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase.
