Overview

The CT-SAW860 is a professional-quality, 19" rack-mounted fixed-channel modulator that converts an audio/video source into a modulated RF carrier on any single CATV channel from 2 to 127. It accepts any standard audio/video source, including satellite receivers, demodulators, VCRs, laser/DVD players, and TV/security cameras. SAW (surface acoustic wave) filtering provides maintenance-free adjacent-channel configuration, and the unit's video dynamic range gives 87.5% modulation depth over a wide video input range.

The CT-SAW860 uses highly stable synthesized frequency control with multi-stage bandpass filtering precision-tuned for maximum performance in adjacent-channel operation. All level controls and indicators are accessible from the front panel for easy setup and tuning. Channel frequency information, with FCC offsets, is programmed into each unit at the factory.

The unit meets or exceeds government regulatory requirements, including FCC group delay pre-distortion for color transmission and FCC Docket 21006 aeronautical offset requirements.

Application

A typical system chains off-air antenna or satellite signals through demodulators into multiple CT-SAW860 modulators, then combines the outputs with a combiner and launch amplifier for distribution across the network.
