    • User Manual
    • Quick Start Guide

Note: Wall plate is not included — use Broan Part No. S97012925 (or equivalent).

    Control Specifications

    • cULus Listed
    • 120 VAC, 60 Hz line power
    • Maximum load: ½ HP motor, 15A resistive, 15A inductive, 3A incandescent, 0.6A electronic ballast
    • When used with switched fan/light fixtures: rated for 360W incandescent, 72W LED, or 72W CFL lamps
    • Limits maximum current to 15 amps per output and for the entire output
    • Compatible with electronic ballasts, CFLs, LED, and LED-equivalent lamps
    • Typical wire size: 12AWG (max) or 14AWG solid copper, rated for at least 90°C
    • Operating temperature: 32–95°F (0–35°C)
    • Rated impulse voltage: 2500V
    • This control requires a neutral wire for operation

    Installation

Note: This control requires a 120 VAC source (hot and neutral) in the switch box.

    1. Turn off power and lock out the service panel before wiring.
    2. Location notes:
      • For bathroom applications, place the control at a level to detect humidity — not directly above a heater or near drafts.
      • Place it close to the shower/tub/sink (the main humidity/steam/VOC source), at sink height or higher.
      • Keep it within Wi-Fi router/access point range (approximately 100 feet).
      • Avoid physical obstructions and radio interference nearby.
    3. Install in at least a 3" deep switch box for #14 AWG wire, or at least 3½" deep for #12 AWG wire. Metal or plastic outlet boxes are acceptable.
    4. Attach incoming power and ventilator power lines to the switch box, using proper connectors and 6" leads.
    5. Make electrical connections per the wiring diagrams below (or in the Broan-NuTone Overture™ app), using wire nuts. Both the control and ventilator must be properly grounded. Terminals accept up to #12 AWG max solid wire.
      • Loosen screw terminals, strip wire 0.275", and insert the bare wire into the terminal opening.
      • Tighten terminal screws to 3.5 in-lbs (0.4 N·m), ensuring the wire remains under the clamp. Do not reuse wire formed into a "J" loop or wrapped around screw threads — the terminal is designed for straight wire insertion.
    6. Tuck wires in and fasten the control to the switch box with the attached screws. Verify orientation — note the "TOP" direction on the wall control label.
    7. Attach the switch plate (not included) with color-matched oval head screws.
    8. Download the Broan-NuTone Overture™ app for step-by-step setup instructions to connect your Wall Control to the system. Scan the QR code on the unit to go to the App Store.

Note: When power is applied, the Wall Control may take approximately 30 seconds to boot up and be ready.

    Wiring Diagrams

Two wiring configurations are supported: power supplied to the switch box, or power supplied to the ventilator. In both configurations, the control connects via L (line), N (neutral), IN, and switch (S1/S2) terminals to the ventilator's motor (M) and ground.

    Safety

    • This product must be grounded. Use copper wire only.
    • Do not use with a wall switch controlling a receptacle.
    • Install only in a UL Listed junction box: 2.0 x 3.0 x 3.0 in. (50.8 x 76.2 x 76.2 mm) or larger, with minimum volume of 18.0 in³ (295 cm³) for 14AWG or 20.0 in³ (328 cm³) for 12AWG wiring.
    • Do not wire hot — de-energize before installation.
    • Enclosure protection rating: IP30. Pollution Degree 2 (household/similar environments).
    • Avoid water and wet locations; keep away from fire, excessive humidity, or hot environments.
    • Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device — doing so risks electric shock and voids the warranty.
    • Warranty is void if miswired.
