Technical information and instructions for the Bellman Visit Portable Receiver (BE1033) — an indoor receiver in the Bellman Visit alerting system that signals via light, sound, and optional bed-shaker vibration.

Function

The BE1033 Bellman Visit Portable Receiver attracts attention using light, sound, and optionally vibration (via the Bellman Bed-shaker BE1270 accessory). It's activated via radio signals from any transmitter in the Bellman Visit System, or via a door with an external trigger.

Installation & Connection

• Normally stood on a level surface or mounted on a wall using the wall bracket. Place where it can best be seen and heard.
• Connects to the Bellman Visit System by radio (see Settings for channel programming).
• External activation is via an external trigger (item 8 on the rear connection diagram) — it can be connected to the BE9023 Magnetic Switch (accessory), BE9024 Door Entering Contact Mat (accessory), or other equipment such as a pushbutton.

Testing

To test the receiver's radio reception, set the transmitter in the Bellman Visit System to the same channel as the portable receiver, then press the transmitter test button. The receiver will respond with:

• Green LED lights.
• Front LED blinks (if the light signal switch is turned on).
• A sound signal is emitted, depending on transmitter type.
• The BE1270 Bellman Bed-shaker (if connected) vibrates.

Pressing the receiver's own test button briefly activates it the same way. When activated via an external trigger, it responds identically.

Adjustments & Functions

• Green LED: indicates successful activation.
• Green + red LEDs blinking alternately: the receiver is in channel programming mode, waiting for a transmitter signal.
• Red LED blinking: batteries need to be changed.
• Sound: volume adjustable 0–90 dBA maximum at 1 metre via the volume control (main frequency range 500–1000 Hz); actual behavior depends on which transmitter activates the receiver.
• Light: the red LED blinks in different patterns depending on the activating transmitter.
• Vibration: can power a BE1270 Bellman Bed-shaker accessory — vibration patterns vary by transmitter (see transmitter documentation).

Changing the Radio Channel

All Bellman Visit System units ship factory-tuned to channel 0 (all channel switches in the "off" position).

1. Set a Bellman Visit transmitter to the desired channel position.
2. Hold the test button on the Portable Receiver until the green and red LEDs blink alternately — this puts the receiver in programming mode for up to 30 seconds.
3. Press the transmitter's test button.
4. The LED lights green and red simultaneously to confirm a successful channel change.

Note: All Bellman Visit products in the same system must be tuned to the same channel to operate as a group — except the Bellman Visit Fire Alarm Transmitter, which has no adjustable channel. As a safety precaution, the receiver will sound on any detected fire alarm signal, regardless of its programmed channel.
