    September 08, 2026 2 min read

Installation guide for the BEKEY4.0 DE2 Entrance Door Unit — a Bluetooth-enabled access-control door unit for the BEKEY smart lock system.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Installation guide for the BEKEY4.0 DE2 Entrance Door Unit ("Orange Box") — a Bluetooth-enabled access-control door unit that integrates with the BEKEY smart lock system, letting you unlock a building's entrance door remotely.

    Mechanical Installation

    • Must be installed only by certified electricians, following all requirements in the installation guide.
    • The door unit must be enclosed so that access attempts are prevented, with at least 0.5 cm spacing between the unit and any user at all times.
    • Mount with double-sided tape or a cable tie through the cable eye on the box (the cable eye can be trimmed off with a cutter if not needed).
    • For a visible installation, place the unit indoors in a membrane can or similar enclosure that prevents direct access via screws, glue, or similar means.

    Electrical Installation

The door unit ships with a 50 cm (≈1.64 ft.) cable with four leads:

    Lead Color Function
    VCC 1 Black Power supply
    VCC 2 Red Power supply
RL 1 Orange Door lock activation (relay)
RL 2 Brown Door lock activation (relay)
    • Supply voltage (VCC 1/VCC 2) can be AC or DC, regardless of DC polarity.
    • The door lock is activated via a potential-free, normally-open relay contact (RL 1/RL 2).
    • Due to lightning risk, do not connect the door unit to a wire longer than 30 m (≈98 ft.).
    • The door unit must be connected to a central power supply; the door lock is powered through the relay.

    During Operation

    • Red LED flashing: CPU is running.
    • Yellow LED flashing: Bluetooth® communication in progress.
    • Green LED: Relay is being pulled (door unlocking).
    • LEDs should be turned off using the BEKEY Install App once the unit is confirmed to be functioning correctly.
