August Connect (AUACR1) — Wi-Fi Bridge User Manual

Overview

August Connect is a Wi-Fi bridge accessory for the August Smart Lock, letting the lock connect to your home Wi-Fi network so you can lock/unlock and check status remotely from the August app — without needing to be within Bluetooth range.

Requirements

• An active August Smart Lock (August Connect will not function on its own).
• A compatible phone — check August's phone compatibility page before setup.

Setup — Android

1. Plug August Connect into a power outlet within 15 feet of your August Smart Lock for optimal performance and reliability.
2. Wait for the flashing green light on August Connect. If it doesn't appear, press and hold the button on August Connect for 3 seconds.
3. Open the August app and tap the Menu icon.
4. Select Settings.
5. Select your lock under Lock Settings.
6. Select "Set Up August Connect."
7. Select "Begin Scan" to start the connection process.
8. Enter your Wi-Fi password.
9. Wait while August Connect connects to your Wi-Fi network.
10. Select Done to finish setup.

Note: If you're using an iPhone, refer to the iOS-specific setup instructions in the August app or on August's support site — the steps are broadly similar (plug in, wait for green light, then walk through Settings > Lock Settings > Set Up August Connect in the app), with iOS-specific menu wording.
