    The ABB-Welcome M2305 Switch Actuator is an integral part of the ABB Welcome door communication system, mounting easily inside a flush-mounted box. It operates exclusively with other ABB Welcome system components and provides relay/dry-contact outputs to control door openers, lights, or bells.

    Safety Warnings

    • Electric voltage — risk of death and fire: work on the 100-240V supply system may only be performed by authorized electricians. Disconnect mains power before installation or disassembly.
    • Low-voltage and 100-240V cables must never be installed together in the same flush-mounted socket — a short circuit could put a full 100-240V load onto the low-voltage bus line.
    • Follow the "five safety rules" (DIN VDE 0105 / EN 50110) before any installation work: disconnect from power, secure against reconnection, verify no voltage present, connect to earth, cover/barricade adjacent live parts. Use proper PPE and only suitable tools/measuring devices.

    Control Elements

    • Terminal resistor ON/OFF switch — in video or combined audio/video installations, must be set to "RC on" on the last device in the line.
    • Mode switchover button — selects one of the 3 operating modes (see below).
    • Rotary addressing switches — set the device address from 001-199.
    • Bus in/out — system bus connections.
    • Push-button connection — for an exit button, doorbell, etc.
    • Relay switching time adjustment — sets how long the output stays active.
    • Floating output — for a door opener or light.

    Operating Modes

    Mode DIP 2 / DIP 3 Behavior
    Call Repetition OFF / OFF Enabled on an incoming call to control an external bell or light. Disabled once the call is answered, or after a custom timeout (1-30 seconds). Actuator address must match the indoor station address in the same apartment.
    Door Opener OFF / ON Enabled by pressing the unlock button on indoor stations/guard units to release a connected lock. Disabled after a custom timeout (1-10 seconds). Actuator address must match the outdoor station address in the same sub-system.
    Time Relay ON / OFF Enabled by pressing the program button on indoor stations/guard units, or the light button on outdoor stations, to release a lock or switch on a light. Disabled after a custom timeout (1 second - 5 minutes). If controlled by an indoor station/guard unit, the program button address must match the switch actuator's address (001-199); if controlled by an outdoor station, the actuator address must match the outdoor station's address.

    Mounting / Installation

    • Installation must only be performed by someone with the necessary electrical engineering knowledge — incorrect installation risks life, property, and fire.
    • Terminate all wiring branches via a connected bus device (indoor station, outdoor station, or system device).
    • Do not install the system controller directly next to the bell transformer or other power supplies (interference risk).
    • Never run system bus wiring together with 100-240V wiring, or share cables between door opener wiring and system bus wiring. Avoid bridges between different cable types.
    • Use only two wires for the system bus within a four-core or multi-core cable; never mix internal and external bus wiring in the same cable, and never loop incoming/outgoing bus wiring through the same cable.
    • The actuator mounts inside a standard flush-mounted box.
