    Safety

    • Electric voltage warning: risk of death and fire from 100-240V. Work on the 100-240V supply system may only be performed by authorised electricians. Disconnect mains power prior to installation or disassembly.
    • The device must only be installed in dry indoor rooms.
    • Dispose of the device via authorized collecting depots — do not dispose of with domestic waste.

    Intended Use

    The M2200x-x indoor station is an integral part of the ABB Welcome door entry system and operates exclusively with components from this system.

    Control Elements

    No. Function
    1 Handset — pick up to activate communication within 30 seconds; hang up to end call.
    2 Unlock button — press to open the door at any time. Hold 10+ seconds for auto-unlock (blue LED on) so the door opens automatically for incoming calls.
    3 Programmable button — for additional functions (call guard unit, intercom). Default function is releasing the lock connected to an outdoor station (COM-NC-NO).
    4 Three-level selector for call volume (maximum / medium / mute).
    5 Red LED — indicates door open past set time, any button press, or mute status.
    6 Blue LED — indicates system busy, incoming call, or auto-unlock status.
    7 Induction loop function (M22003- only).

    Settings

    Ringtone Type Settings

    1. Hold the two setting buttons together for ~3 seconds to enter system setting mode (blue & red LED flash simultaneously).
    2. Set the next ringtone type for the door bell, for a call from an outdoor station, and for an intercom call from other apartments/guard unit (three separate button presses).
    3. Hold the two buttons together again for ~3 seconds to save and exit.

    Default Outdoor Station Settings

    1. Pick up the handset, hold the button for ~3 seconds to enter default outdoor station setting mode.
    2. Set the address (1-9, default 1) — value shown by red LED flash count.
    3. Hold for 3 seconds, or hang up, to save and exit.

    Programming the Auxiliary Buttons

    1. Hold the programmable button for 3 seconds in standby mode to enter programming mode.
    2. Press to cycle the function code (0→1→2→3→4→5→0), shown by blue LED flash count:
      • 0 — No function (LED always on)
      • 1 — Control switch actuator (flash once)
      • 2 — Intercom call in same apartment (flash twice)
      • 3 — Intercom call among different apartments (flash 3x)
      • 4 — Call guard unit (flash 4x)
      • 5 — Release 2nd lock of a default outdoor station (flash 5x)
    3. For functions 1 & 2, set the address (01-99): hold the button again until LED flashes/lights, then press to increment tens digit (shown by red LED flashes) then units digit (shown by blue LED flashes). Both cycle 0-9.
    4. Exit programming mode by holding the button for 3 seconds until blue & red LEDs flash once simultaneously.

    Adjusting the Device

    • Address jumper (X100/X10/X1): sets the indoor station address, e.g. address 024.
    • Master/Slave function: exactly one indoor station per apartment must be set "Master" (jumper 'M/S on'); all additional stations in the same apartment must be "Slave" ('M/S off').
    • Terminal resistor: in video or mixed audio/video installations, set the jumper to 'RC on' on the last device of the line.

    Mounting / Installation

    Electrician Requirements

    Install only with the necessary electrical engineering knowledge and experience. Apply the "five safety rules" (DIN VDE 0105, EN 50110): disconnect from power, secure against reconnection, ensure no voltage, connect to earth, cover/barricade adjacent live parts. Use suitable personal protective clothing and only suitable tools/measuring devices.

    General Installation Instructions

    • Terminate all branches of the wiring system via a connected bus device.
    • Do not install the system controller directly next to the bell transformer or other power supplies.
    • Do not install system bus wires together with 100-240V wires.
    • Do not use common cables for door opener wires and system bus wires.
    • Avoid bridges between different cable types.
    • Use only two wires for the system bus in a four-core or multi-core cable.
    • Never install incoming/outgoing bus, or internal/external bus, inside the same cable when looping.

    Mounting Steps

    1. Pull the clamp on the bottom of the device to open the housing.
    2. Fasten the bottom to the wall using the screw holes (or to an existing flush-mounted box) per the dimension diagram in the PDF.
    3. Wire the device — insulated cable ends must not exceed 10mm.
    4. Set addresses for the outdoor station(s) and the indoor station jumper.
    5. Fix the bottom to the wall or flush-mounted box.
    6. Latch the upper part onto the bottom: place the upper side on the lock-in lugs, then press the bottom side until it's caught by the clamp.
