    Complete product manual for the ABB-Welcome IP Pushbutton Outdoor Station, models H81381P.-. and H81381P.-.-02. This is the video door station used with the ABB-Welcome IP video door entry and access control system, integrating a camera, speaker/microphone, and pushbutton into a single weatherproof outdoor unit.

    Intended Use

    As part of the ABB-Welcome IP system, this device can only be used with accessories from that system.

    • Security mode (default): the outdoor station requires a certificate issued by the management software before it can function normally — this guarantees high security.
    • Compatible mode: used if there is no management software present; this must be set on the indoor station. Refer to the IP Touch 7" product manual for details.
    • Video privacy notice: making and saving video recordings can infringe on personal rights — always observe applicable legal and labeling requirements when placing and operating video components.

    Safety Warning

    • WARNING — Electric voltage: Dangerous currents flow through the body when coming into direct or indirect contact with live components, which can result in electric shock, burns, or death.
    • Disconnect the mains power supply prior to installation and/or disassembly.
    • Permit work on the 100–240 V supply system to be performed only by specialist staff.
    • Installation requires knowledge of the "five safety rules" (DIN VDE 0105, EN 50110): disconnect; secure against re-connection; ensure there is no voltage; connect to earth and short-circuit; cover or barricade adjacent live parts. Use suitable PPE, tools, and measuring devices, and confirm the supply network type (TN/IT/TT) before wiring.

    Mounting/Installation

    • Use gloves during mounting to protect against cuts.
    • Supports surface-mounted installation, flush-mounted installation (with or without a pre-installation box), and cavity wall installation — dimension templates for each are included in the full illustrated manual.
    • The nameplate can be removed and replaced after installation.
    • To ensure picture quality, avoid these installation situations: direct light, direct sunlight, extremely bright picture backgrounds, highly reflective walls opposite the door station, and lamps or direct light sources aimed at the camera.

    Commissioning

    1. Step 1 — Outdoor station enters engineering mode: Power on the outdoor station and wait until all 3 LED indicators go out. Hold the first button on the outdoor station for 10 seconds until all 3 LED indicators start flashing. (The outdoor station automatically exits engineering mode after 5 minutes.)
    2. Step 2 — Indoor station enters engineering mode: On the extra screen of the indoor station, tap "System" to enter settings, then "Engineering settings" and enter the engineering password (default: 345678).
    3. Step 3 — Indoor station configures outdoor station: On the "Engineering settings" screen, tap "Outdoor station settings" to configure the outdoor station. See the IP Touch 7" product manual for full configuration steps.

    Operation

    • Calling a resident: Press the pushbutton to start a call (default behavior); press again to restart the call.
    • Calling the guard unit: If configured via the indoor station, press the pushbutton to call the designated guard unit.
    • Turn on the light: If configured, press the pushbutton to switch on a light connected via the IP actuator.

    FCC Compliance

    This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. If interference occurs, try reorienting/relocating the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment, connecting to a different outlet/circuit, or consulting the dealer/technician.

    Cyber Security

    • Customers are solely responsible for maintaining a secure network connection (firewalls, authentication, encryption, antivirus, etc.) around the device — ABB is not liable for damages from security breaches on the customer's network.
    • Devices operate in safe mode by default; all devices in a system should be signed by a public CA at commissioning (normally the management software acts as CA). Compatible mode (used only for legacy device communication) is unencrypted and carries higher risk.
    • Firmware updates are supported via the management software; only firmware signed by ABB is accepted, so the device is not susceptible to malware.
    • The engineering password must be changed on first access, and cannot use sequential numbers (e.g. 123456) or three consecutive identical digits (e.g. 123444).
