Overview

ABB-Welcome IP is an IP-based door communication system. Individual devices connect over standard LAN cable, and Power over Ethernet (PoE) removes the need for separate wiring to outdoor/indoor stations. Because everything runs on IP networking, the system is expandable virtually without limit — from a single villa up to large residential complexes and high-rise buildings.

Outdoor Stations

Elegant, vandal-resistant outdoor stations with an intelligent brightness sensor that automatically switches between day/night camera modes, and integrated LEDs for sharp images even in darkness.

• Clear design with loudspeaker and microphone; brushed stainless steel surface.
• Door opening via private/public password, NFC cellphone, IC/NFC card, or ID card.
• Available with integrated keypad, integrated card reader, or as an autonomous stand-alone card reader.
• Elevator control option: limits visitors/neighbors to authorized floors, with floating-contact connection to the lift control system and API protocol integration.

Indoor Stations

The ABB-Welcome IP indoor station features six quick-access buttons and a high-resolution touchscreen for intuitive door communication. Key functions include:

• Screen-in-screen call waiting — a second incoming call can be shown alongside the first; a third call is logged as missed.
• Intercom — apartment-to-apartment and room-to-room communication within large complexes or a single household.
• Digital picture frame / screensaver — the display doubles as a photo frame or personalized screensaver (logo, image, digital clock) when idle, loaded via SD card.
• Integrated video player and personalized door bell tones (up to three per station, imported via SD card).
• Mute function — disables the indoor station microphone during a call to prevent eavesdropping, or silences the bell.
• Messages — send text/view messages to property management; receive announcements, booking confirmations, or advertising from the concierge.
• KNX home automation navigation from the same touchscreen.

Mobile App / IP Gateway

The ABB-Welcome IP gateway bridges the door communication system to the internet, turning a smartphone or tablet into a mobile indoor video station. Residents can answer door calls and remotely unlock the door from anywhere via Wi-Fi or mobile data (3G/4G+).

• No special router configuration needed — setup uses the existing home router.
• Browser-based, password-protected configuration interface for the IP gateway; user rights for the app are assigned here.
• Pairing is done by scanning a QR code after log-in for maximum security.
• Available for iOS and Android via the App Store / Google Play Store.

IP Gateway (Model H8301): dual LAN port isolates private devices from the public network; supports multiple indoor stations per apartment; lightning-proof, dustproof, waterproof (IP30). Order No. 2TMA110160H0001.

Property Management / Guard Station

ABB-Welcome IP supports a dedicated guard/concierge station for 24-hour security personnel:

• High-resolution 7" color display, 6 mechanical shortcut keys, handset/hands-free communication.
• Surveillance of outdoor stations and community IP cameras; call forwarding to residents; can unlock all doors in an emergency; receives alarm messages.
• Optional property management software: door communication and opening, call handling, camera monitoring, SOS/alarm coordination, card management, intelligent community messaging, and full history/logging.
• Guard Unit (Model HSM36-GU): desktop-mounted, IP30-rated, 332 x 239 x 127 mm.

Security Applications

• IP camera integration (ONVIF protocol) — public cameras (e.g., parking garage, front yard) are viewable by all residents; private cameras are restricted to their owner's indoor station.
• Burglar alarm integration — window/door sensors connect directly to the indoor station, which automatically alerts the guard unit or property management on a breach.
• Panic/SOS button on the indoor station sends an immediate alarm to the concierge/property management.
• Smoke detector/fire alarm integration — alerts are sent simultaneously to the indoor station and the guard unit/property management.

System Devices

Network Topology

Devices connect via LAN cable; PoE eliminates separate power wiring for outdoor and indoor stations where supported. Two example topologies are documented in the original brochure:

• Single villa topology — outdoor station, indoor station(s), lock, switch, power supply, and optional IP Gateway/KNX IP Gateway for app access.
• Residential complex topology — multiple entrances (main/side gate, front/back entrance) feeding a PoE switch, concierge/property management station, relay module, lift control, and per-building indoor stations.

Multi-channel technology allows any number of flats to be reached by different outdoor stations simultaneously, and a single flat can be called from more than one outdoor station — residents never miss a visitor. All devices are networked in a closed LAN system; indoor stations are protected from outside access, and the optional IP gateway isolates the public door communication network from the resident's private network.
