Wiring guide for the ABB-free@home TH-1.1 thermostat, covering conventional, heat-pump, and boiler system terminal configurations plus accessory wiring.
Wiring Guide for the ABB-free@home TH-1.1 Thermostat (ABBPRN1050038 Rev B1). Covers terminal wiring for conventional, heat-pump, and boiler-based heating/cooling systems, plus accessory wiring.
The thermostat's terminal block includes: Rc, Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B. Wiring configuration depends on the type of HVAC system being controlled — see the diagrams below for each system type. Note that some configurations require removing the jumper on the back of the device.
Connect Rc/Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, and O/B terminals to the furnace's R, C, W terminals as appropriate for a single-stage heating-only setup.
Thermostat terminals Rc/Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B connect to an Air Handler (R, C, Y1, Y2, G) which in turn connects to an Air Conditioner (C, Y1, Y2) and a Boiler (R, W1, W2). Remove the jumper on the back of the device for this configuration.
Thermostat Rc, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1 connect to a Furnace (RC, C, Y1, G, Y1) which connects to an Air Conditioner (C, Y1) via the RC/Y1 junction.
Thermostat Rc, Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B/W1 connect to an Air Conditioner (R, C, Y1, Y2, G) and a Furnace (R, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2).
Thermostat Rc, Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B connect to an Air Handler (R, C, Y, G, W2, O/B) which connects to a Heat Pump (R, C, Y, W2, O/B).
Thermostat Rc, Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B connect to an Air Handler (R, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, O/B) which connects to a Heat Pump (R, C, Y1, Y2, W2, O/B).
Thermostat Rc, Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B connect to an Air Handler (R, C, Y1, Y2, G) which connects to a Heat Pump (R, C, Y1, Y2, O/B) and a Boiler (R, W1, W2). Remove the jumper on the back of the device for this configuration.
Thermostat Rc, Rh, C, Y1, Y2, G, W1, W2, ACC, O/B connect to the accessory (R, C, Y, G, W, U, U).
Same terminal set, connecting to a single-wire accessory via the U terminal.
