    Complete user manual for the A&D UP-200BLE Fingertip Pulse Oximeter — a non-invasive Bluetooth® wellness device for spot-checking blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate at home.

    Indication for Use

    The Pulse Oximeter is a non-invasive device intended for the spot-check of saturation of arterial hemoglobin (SpO2) and the pulse rate of adults in home use environments. This oximeter is not intended for continuous monitoring, and is intended for wellness use only.

    Important Safety Warnings

    • An uncomfortable or painful feeling may appear with continuous use, especially for microcirculation-barrier users. The sensor should not be applied to the same finger for over 2 hours.
    • Don't place the oximeter on edema or tender tissue.
    • Do not stare at the red and infrared light emitter (the infrared light is invisible) after turning on the oximeter, as it may be harmful to the eyes.
    • Results may be influenced by external coloring agents (nail polish, colored skin care products) — don't use on surfaces with coloring agents.
    • Results may be influenced by fingers that are too cold, too thin, or with fingernails too long. Use a larger finger (thumb or middle finger) placed deeply into the probe.
    • Explosive hazard: DO NOT use in an environment with inflammable gas such as anesthetic.
    • Keep away from equipment generating strong electric or magnetic fields.
    • DO NOT use while examining by MRI or CT — induced current may cause burn.
    • DO NOT swing the lanyard; do not use it if allergic to the lanyard material; do not wrap it around the neck to avoid accident.
    • DO NOT use the measured values as the sole basis for clinical diagnosis — consult your physician.
    • Contains silicone, PVC, TPU, TPE and ABS materials (biocompatibility tested per ISO 10993-1). Individuals allergic to these materials should not use this device.
    • Not recommended to use multiple pulse oximeters on the same user simultaneously (risk of leakage current overlap). This oximeter is not intended for treatment.
    • Standard pulse oximetry (SpO2) cannot screen for CO exposure — not recommended for those suffering carbon monoxide toxicosis.

    Setup

    Battery Installation

    1. Insert two AAA size batteries in the proper direction.
    2. Put the cover back on.

    Note: Take care when inserting batteries — improper insertion may damage the oximeter.

    Attaching the Lanyard

    1. Put the thin loop through the hole on the oximeter.
    2. Put the lanyard strap through the thin loop and tighten.

    Operating Guide — Using the A&D Heart Track App

    Pairing

    1. In the A&D Heart Track app, click the "Menu" icon in the upper left.
    2. Choose "Add Bluetooth Devices."
    3. Click the "+" icon in the lower right corner. Choose "Pulse Oximeter."
    4. Choose UP-200BLE.
    5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete pairing.

    Taking a Measurement

    1. Open the "A&D Heart Track" app.
    2. On the home screen, click the "O2" icon in the upper right corner.
    3. Click "+ Measure."
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete measurement.
    5. Open the oximeter.
    6. Place finger into the rubber cushions (ensure correct position), then clip the finger. Fingernails and the luminescent tube should be on the same side.
    7. Do not shake the finger; keep still during the process.
    8. Press the Button to exit standby mode.
    9. "Synchronous Time" will appear on the display.
    10. At the end of measurement, the app will instruct you to remove your finger; the measurement value transmits to the app.

    Note: After replacing the batteries, take a measurement in the app to synchronize the date and time.

    Cleaning, Maintenance, Transportation & Storage

    • Turn off the oximeter before cleaning — do not submerge in liquid. Remove batteries before cleaning.
    • Clean using 75% isopropanol alcohol dampened on a soft cloth; wipe for disinfection, then air dry or dry with a soft cloth.
    • DO NOT spray liquid directly on the oximeter.
    • High-pressure sterilization cannot be used. Do not immerse in liquid — keep in a dry environment.
    • No calibration needed. Replace batteries when low-battery indication appears. Remove batteries if not used for a long time.
    • Store away from children, pets, and insects; avoid strong shock, vibration, and moisture during transport.

    Cautions Affecting Measurement Accuracy

    • Finger must be placed properly, or measurement may be inaccurate.
    • The SpO2 sensor should not be used at a limb tied with an arterial canal, blood pressure cuff, or receiving intravenous injection.
    • Excessive ambient light (fluorescent lamp, dual ruby light, infrared heater, direct sunlight) may affect results.
    • Frequent movement or intense activity may affect measured accuracy.
    • Weak pulse (from shock, low temperature, major bleeding, vascular contracting drugs) reduces waveform strength and increases sensitivity to interference.
    • Staining dilution drugs (methylene blue, indigo green, acid indigo blue), carbon monoxide hemoglobin, methionine, thiosalicylic hemoglobin, or icterus may cause inaccurate SpO2 readings.
    • Drugs such as dopamine, procaine, prilocaine, lidocaine, and butacaine may cause serious SpO2 measurement error.
