Installation instructions for the 2GIG Vario Wireless Receiver — a flexible receiver unit usable either as a wireless expansion receiver connected to a 2GIG Vario security panel, or as a stand-alone receiver for 2GIG sensors.

    Overview

The 2GIG Vario Wireless Receiver extends wireless zone and keyfob capacity for the 2GIG Vario security system, supporting supervised wireless zones, multi-function keyfobs, utility outputs, and signal jamming/tamper detection.

    Main Features

    • Up to 32 supervised wireless zones
    • Up to 16 multi-function keyfobs
    • Two utility outputs
    • Signal jamming detection
    • Threshold-level calibration
    • Tamper detection
    • Transmitter supervision / low battery detection
    • Nominal center frequency: 345 MHz

    Mounting Considerations

    • Do not install near metal objects or RF-generating devices such as TV sets or computers
    • Mount at a height of at least 1.5 m (5 ft) above the floor
    • Separate the mounting bracket from the main unit and use it as a marking template for wall mounting; tear off screw caps as needed and mount the bracket to the wall

    Wiring the Receiver

    Terminal (Left to Right) Description
AUX Red +13.8V power VDC (in BUS connection, connect to AUX on the control panel)
Com BLK Black 0V common (in BUS connection, connect to COM on the control panel)
BUS YEL Data BUS connection (not for stand-alone mode)
BUS GRN Data BUS connection (not for stand-alone mode)
    Relay 1 N.O. / COM / N.C. For future use
    Relay 2 N.O. / COM / N.C. For future use

Maximum permitted wire run: 300 meters (1,000 ft) for total BUS wiring, regardless of wiring gauge used.

DIP Switch Settings (BUS Mode, SWB in OFF position)

    Switch Function
SW1–SW3 Set the receiver's ID (three switches)
    SW4–SW6 For future use
SW7 Utility Output Receiver Enable/Disable (OFF = disable, ON = enable)
    SW8 For future use

    LED Indications

    • Power/BUS Communication (RED): Steady = BUS communication OK. Flashing = In Program mode or BUS communication trouble.
    • Receiver Communication (GREEN): Steady = communication OK between a wireless sensor and the receiver. Flashing = communication trouble.

    Programming Steps in the Panel

For full instructions, refer to the 2GIG Vario System Installation & Programming Guide. Summary of steps:

    1. Define the receiver ID using DIP switches 1–3 (default ID is 1)
    2. Allocate the receiver to the system (Programming Menu Quick Keys: 7-1-2-5)
    3. Allocate the relay outputs as an output receiver (UO02) to the system (Quick Keys: 7-1-2-3)
    4. Calibrate the receiver (Quick Keys: 7-2-1)
    5. Allocate the wireless device (Quick Keys: 7-2-2)
    6. Perform a communication test between the receiver and device (Main Menu > Maintenance > Wireless Test)
    7. Set the receiver parameters (Zones — Quick Keys 2-1, Keyfobs — 8-2) and output parameters (Quick Key 3)

Multiple receivers can be allocated to the panel.
