Complete installation and programming instructions for the 2GIG PIR1345 Passive Infrared Motion Detector — a wall-mounted, wide-angle, pet-immune motion sensor for 2GIG security panels.

Overview

The PIR1345 is a wall-mounted Passive Infrared Motion Detector with wide-angle coverage. In High Sensitivity Mode, it covers up to 30 feet deep x 50 feet wide, and is pet-immune for animals up to 55 lbs.

Programming (Learning the PIR into the Control Panel)

Scroll between options using the ← and → arrows. Move to the previous/next prompt with ↑ and ↓.

1. Select RF sensor # (01–48) and assign the PIR to a new zone.
2. Select RF sensor type: (04) interior follower, or (10) interior with delay.
3. Select RF sensor equipment code — enter 0533 for the PIR1345.
4. Select RF equipment type: (2) motion.
5. Enter the RF sensor serial number (7 digits) — either manually (last 7 digits of the TX ID on the box/device back), or via Auto Entry (panel in Learn-in mode, press Shift then Learn, then press the tamper switch).
6. Select RF sensor equipment age: (0) new or (1) existing.
7. Select RF sensor loop number (1–3).
8. Select RF Sensor dialer delay: (0) disabled or (1) enabled.
9. Construct an RF sensor voice descriptor (e.g. press Insert, then 140 for "master", then Insert, then 024 for "bedroom" to build "master bedroom").
10. Select RF sensor reports: (0) disabled or (1) enabled (reports to central station).
11. Select RF sensor supervised: (0) disabled or (1) enabled (reports loss of supervision/low battery).
12. Select RF sensor chime (0–13): 0 disables the panel chime on activation; 1–13 selects a voice/chime.
13. To program another sensor, click Next.
14. To exit programming, click Skip, then End and Exit. The panel reboots for several seconds.

Installing and Mounting

1. Remove the bottom screw and open the PIR case.
2. Install the 3V Lithium battery, observing polarity.
3. Set the left jumper (PET IMMUNITY) to 33 lbs (15 kg) or 55 lbs (25 kg, default).
4. Set the right jumper (SENSITIVITY) to LO (default) or HI.
5. Press and release the tamper switch to begin power-up.
6. Wait 10 seconds for the PIR to fully power up.

Mounting with the Bracket

1. Screw part A into part B using short Phillips head screws.
2. Select either the corner mount (part C) or flat wall mount (part D).
3. Mount the selected bracket at a height of 7.5 ft (2.3 m) using the supplied long screws with anchors.
4. Place the A+B assembly on the shaft of bracket C or D.
5. Screw a Phillips head screw with washer into the top of part B to secure the assembly to the bracket shaft.
6. Attach the main body of the PIR to the mounted back with a screw at the bottom of the case.

Mounting Without the Bracket

For corner mounting: use the supplied long screws with anchors and mount the PIR case back using either the right or left two corner mount screw holes, at 7.5 ft (2.3 m). For flat wall mounting: use the 2 wall mount screw holes in the center of the back, also at 7.5 ft (2.3 m). In both cases, attach the main body of the PIR to the mounted back with the screw at the bottom.

Testing

Before mounting, verify RF communication to the panel:

1. From the Installer Toolbox, select Walk Test.
2. Place a magnet over the arrow on the left side of the PIR (the LED indicates detection), then remove the magnet.
3. Place the PIR in its intended mounting location.
4. Move through the coverage area and confirm the LED flashes with movement (flashing continues for 1 minute; there's a 3-second delay between flashes).
5. Exit Installer Toolbox.

Note: Leaving the cover off, removing jumpers, or placing the PIR in direct sunlight or near heating/AC ducts can cause false alarms during testing.

Using the PIR with Pets

• Mount the PIR 7.5–8 feet above floor level.
• Set the SENSITIVITY jumper to low (default).
• Set the PET IMMUNITY jumper to match your pet's weight.
• Do not aim the PIR at stairs or furniture your pet could climb on.

Pet immunity applies to an individual animal or group whose total weight is ≤55 lbs, when room temperature is between 50°F and 90°F, and the PIR is mounted with no tilt (if using the bracket).

Installation & Environmental Guidance

• Keep the coverage area free of obstructions (curtains, screens, plants) that could block detection.
• Avoid mounting where vibration is present — vibration can cause the PIR's field of view to shift and trigger false alarms.
• If aiming the PIR at a door, choose an entry delay during programming (door movement can trigger the alarm before a door contact initiates delay).
• The PIR only detects intrusion within unobstructed beam coverage — it cannot see through walls, ceilings, floors, closed doors, partitions, or glass.
• Do not tamper with, mask, or paint the PIR lens or optical system — this impairs detection.
• Glossy surfaces (mirrors, windows, glossy floors) can reflect infrared energy and cause false triggers; sunlight or car headlights through windows can also trigger false alarms.
• HVAC ducts blowing air onto objects in the PIR's field of view can cause detectable temperature changes.
• Detection performance decreases as ambient temperature approaches 95°–120°F.

Inserting & Replacing Batteries

A low-battery notification appears on the Control Panel touch screen when the PIR's supervised battery is low — replace immediately with the recommended type (see Specifications). Remove the back cover by unscrewing the bottom screw and pulling the cover from bottom to top; observe polarity.

Warning: Improper handling of lithium batteries may result in heat generation, explosion, or fire. Replace only with the same or equivalent battery type. Do not recharge, disassemble, or dispose of batteries in fire. Dispose of used batteries per local waste/recycling regulations. Keep away from small children; if swallowed, seek medical attention promptly.
