    Installation and operation instructions for the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector (2GIG-GNGRD1-345) — a combination trigger lock that alerts your GoControl security panel when an attached firearm is moved.

    ⚠ Safety Warnings

    Read these instructions and warnings before installing or operating the 2GIG Gun Motion Detector. Failure to follow them could result in serious injury, property damage, and/or death.

    • Never install this detector on a loaded firearm. Doing so could cause accidental discharge, resulting in serious injury, property damage, or death.
    • Store firearms and ammunition separately and securely. Keep them out of the reach of children.
    • Never use a broken or damaged Gun Motion Detector.
    • This product will not lock all firearms. Some lever-action rifles, firearms without trigger guards, or guns with extra-wide/light triggers or trigger shoes/extensions may not be effectively locked. The device may be cut or defeated by a determined individual and may not prevent firearm use.

    Operation

    Locking the Device

    1. To open the lock, set the dials to the combination numbers (factory preset to 0-0-0).
    2. With dials set to the combination, move the release lever to the up position.
    3. Pull apart the two sides of the lock.
    4. To close the lock, move the release lever back down to the locked position and scramble the combination dials. Depending on your gun, insert the front lock unit with ratchet post through the trigger guard, behind the trigger if possible. Then insert the rear unit.

    Resetting Your Personal Combination

    1. Open the lock by pulling apart the two sides, and completely remove the detector from the gun.
    2. Push the lever into the down position.
    3. With dials set to the current combination, use a pen point or similar narrow object to press the Reset Button on the left side of the lock, toward the center.
    4. Continue applying pressure to the reset button and set the dials to your personalized combination.
    5. Release the Reset Button — the new combination is now set.

    Testing

    Make sure the firearm is NOT loaded. After placing the Gun Motion Detector on a compatible firearm, perform a motion test by picking it up to verify good RF communication with the control panel.

    Replacing the Battery

    1. Remove the detector from your firearm if attached.
    2. Remove the battery cover.
    3. Carefully lift up on the front of the battery and pull it straight out.
    4. Insert the replacement battery with the plus (+) side facing up and minus (–) side facing down.
    5. Replace the battery cover.

    Warning: Failure to follow battery warnings can lead to heat generation, rupture, leakage, explosion, fire, or other injury/damage. Never recharge or disassemble the battery, or place it in fire or water. Keep batteries away from small children — if swallowed, see a doctor promptly.

    Storing the Detector

    The device periodically transmits a status signal to the 2GIG Control Panel. If placed in a safe or locked box, radio transmission may be impeded — ask your security dealer about adding a repeater to ensure effective communication.

    Behavior With Your GoControl Panel

    The device sends an alert transmission when there is movement of the attached gun. The panel's response depends on its programming:

    Professional installer setup: Sensor equip type is "Motion" for all four scenarios (Interior Follower / Interior w/ Delay / Day Zone / No Response). Check with your alarm monitoring company on setting up smartphone push notifications.
