2GIG-GC CDMA Cell Radio Module — Install Instructions

Install instructions for the 2GIG-GC CDMA Cell Radio Module — a snap-in cell radio for 2GIG Control Panels providing two-way voice to a Central Station, security data transmission to online portals, and over-the-air firmware updates.

Overview

Important: The Control Panel firmware must be version 1.9.4 or higher for the CDMA Cell Radio Module to work. This module works with any electrical appliance shock hazard consideration — always disconnect both AC power and battery from the 2GIG Control Panel before inserting, removing, or replacing parts.

New Install Instructions

For installing a CDMA Cell Radio Module into a 2GIG Control Panel when no module currently exists.

1. Plug the Cell Radio Module into the 2GIG Control Panel.
2. Secure the Cell Radio Module with 2 screws and lock washers.
3. Connect the antenna to the Cell Radio Module.
4. Refer to the Antenna Install Instructions for further information.

Existing Install Instructions (Replacing a Module)

For replacing an existing CDMA Cell Radio Module. Note: When replacing a module, make sure the new module is registered with the user's service provider.

Removing and Replacing the Cell Radio Module

1. Disconnect the battery from the 2GIG Panel.
2. Disconnect AC power supply from the power source.
3. Open the Control Panel.
4. Detach the antenna.
5. Unscrew the two mounting screws.
6. Pull the Cell Radio Module out carefully, without bending the pins.
7. Plug the new Cell Radio Module into the 2GIG Control Panel by carefully placing it onto the pins.
8. Secure the module with 2 screws and lock washers.
9. Reattach the antenna.

Removing an Internal Antenna

1. Disconnect the battery from the 2GIG Control Panel.
2. Disconnect AC power supply from the power source.
3. Lift up the side flap on the 2GIG Control Panel.
4. Detach the antenna.
5. Pull the internal antenna out from the side of the 2GIG Control Panel.

Removing an External Antenna

1. Disconnect the battery from the 2GIG Control Panel.
2. Disconnect AC power supply from the power source.
3. Open the 2GIG Control Panel.
4. Detach the antenna.
5. Pull the external antenna from where it was previously installed.

Limited Warranty

This 2GIG Technologies product is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 1 year. This warranty extends only to wholesale customers who buy direct from 2GIG Technologies or through its normal distribution channels — 2GIG Technologies does not warrant this product to consumers directly (consumers should inquire with their selling dealer about the dealer's warranty). There are no obligations or liabilities for consequential damages arising from use or performance of this product, including loss of property, revenue, profit, or cost of removal/installation/reinstallation. All implied warranties are valid only until the warranty expires, and this warranty is in lieu of all other express or implied warranties.
