Bluetooth Lighting & Appliance Control Devices provide proximity based control over connected lights and small appliances and other Bluetooth compatible devices. Unlike Z-Wave or Zigbee wireless networks, Bluetooth connected devices do not typically require a system hub to support wireless communications. All that is required is a dedicated controller such as a smartphone or other dedicated device, to enable remote commands and report the status of connected devices. Bluetooth’s proximity based wireless control limits the maximum range two or more devices can communicate with each other, but the limited range also offers protection from remote hacking or tampering.
