Remote Control Old Appliances and Legacy Devices Using Wi-Fi

Add smart functionality to old appliances and legacy devices with the Shelly Plus Uni. This smart module is designed for low-voltage AC or DC applications (8-24 VAC, 9-28 VDC, and 5 VDC) and features one analog input, an 11-Wire data input, one pulse counter input, two digital inputs, one sensor power supply output, and two potential-free contacts solid-state relay outputs. The Shelly Plus Uni is specifically designed to retrofit and automate old devices and appliances such as intercoms, alarm systems, garage doors, exterior gates, old switches, and just about any low-voltage old device. Additionally, it offers pulse counting functionality for precise data readings from your energy, gas, or water meter so you can get a clear view of your electricity and water usage. You can also reduce monthly costs based on data information you get from your meter or connected device and integrate smart sensors that can trigger actions automatically – such as using a temperature sensor that can activate a fan to automatically turn On when the temperature rises above 75°F.

The Shelly Plus Uni is Wi-Fi operated, uses Bluetooth connectivity, and does not require the use of a smart hub. It can work as a Wi-Fi extender and Bluetooth Gateway, which can help improve the performance of your smart home network. You'll be able to easily control and manage it via the Shelly Smart Control app (for iOS and Android devices), and it's compatible with the majority of smart home platforms, protocols, and voice assistants like Alex and Google Assistant. Designed with an ESP32 fast processor and an embedded Web Interface, it provides quick and reliable actions when using it to remote control old electrical devices via a mobile phone, tablet, PC, or home automation system.

Enjoy enhanced home automation control and precise monitoring of your Shelly devices no matter where you are with the Shelly Smart Control app. The app connects to Shelly's cloud service to help you control your connected devices remotely and send notifications for all automated events in your home directly to your smart device. You can easily configure devices and manage their settings individually, or you can create personalized scenes by combining Shelly devices to trigger certain actions in your smart home network. The Shelly Smart Control App supports real-time power metering with power management (PM) devices, smart plugs, and smart bulbs in order to allow you to build complex automation solutions for improved energy efficiency and lower electricity bills. Shelly devices are compatible with other most widely accepted both local and cloud based home automation platforms. A Shelly Smart Control App user account is required to access, include, and control Shelly devices through the Shelly Smart Control application and include your Shelly devices to 3rd party home automation or voice assistant platforms like SmartThings, Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

• Energy Monitoring: An energy consumption panel gives you a detailed view of your live and recorded energy usage from devices controlled by Shelly Qubino products. The information is stored in a free cloud and fully accessible to you for further analysis of your energy consumption habits.
• Works with Alexa: The Shelly Smart Control app is natively compatible with Amazon Alexa.

Installation Details

Unlike most Shelly devices, which are designed to be installed behind wall switches and outlets, the Shelly Plus Uni is typically mounted inside equipment, panels, or enclosures. It operates on low-voltage AC or DC power (8–24 VAC, 9–28 VDC, or 5 VDC) and allows you to add Wi-Fi control, monitor sensors, and create automation without wiring directly behind a wall switch.
