Install optimal motion detection doverage into your home or office with the Optex 360° Ceiling Mount PIR Detector with Zoom Function. This circular motion detector mounts onto your ceiling and detects movement within the 60 ft diameter area underneath it with absolutely no dead zones in rooms up to 16 ft /4.8m tall. The PIR Detector's area of coverage can be adjusted via a rotational zoom mechanism to allow you to focus on a smaller or wider area depending on the room size or desired monitored zone within the room. The PIR Detector's patented multi-focus lens creates 276 detection zones that enable the sensor to determine object and individual height, vertical distance, as well as the Detector's sensitivity to motion. The device also features RFI and temperature protection to help avoid false alarms caused by signal interference and temperature extremes or sudden changes in temperature. Once movement is detected by the device, it will send an alert to a connected alarm or security panel to trigger any pre-set alarms or security routines.

Installation Details

The PIR Detector is designed to mount to ceilings measuring 8ft to 16ft high. If the selected room to install the sensor is greater than 60 ft in diameter, it is best to place it above a part of the room where protected objects are located or where the most entryways to the room are within the sensor's field of coverage. The device is powered via wired connection to an Optex or third party security panel. Users can conveniently monitor and control the detector through their security system's interface.
