This outdoor motion detector utilizes multiple detection zones to identify and notify you of movements of subjects such as humans, large animals, cars, and others while ignoring smaller subjects such as small pets or swaying branches. This greatly reduces the amount of excessive notifications or false alarms of detected movement, ensuring you are notified only when necessary. The sensor's 180° panoramic field of vision allows it to monitor large indoor or outdoor areas, and can identify which direction motion is coming from. Additionally, the motion detector features anti-masking functionality, digital triple layer detection, and SMDA Logic technology, which accounts for weather changes and wind-swept vegetation to easily distinguish between false alarms and real intrusions.

Digital Double Layer Detection

The Optex 180° Panoramic Outdoor PIR Motion Detector emits two PIR detection zones within its field of view. An alarm will be generated only when a subject, such as a person or large animal, enters the upper and lower PIR detection areas simultaneously. This prevents the sensor, and your security system, from being triggered by smaller sized animals or swaying branches. The detection range of the sensor varies based on the height the sensor is installed, between 30 to 40 ft long within a 180° wide area. The detection zone can be narrowed by sliding the masking shutter.

Installation Details

The Motion Detector mounts onto a wall with the included mounting bracket. Once the wall mount is installed, the Detector can be removed/fixed without any screws. The Detector's cover can also be opened/closed without any screws. The device can be pole mounted with the pole mount plate (PMP-01), sold separately. The device includes a built-in level indicator to simplify installation. Additionally, all configurable components are colored blue for easy adjustment of settings.
