RUIC820T
Complete your home audio system with an all purpose speaker with the Russound 8" Enhanced Performance Single Point Stereo Loudspeaker! This Single Point Stereo Loudspeaker delivers left and right audio channels to reproduce stereo sound from a single location. The speaker's 15° pivoting tweeter can be tweaked to aim sound at your preferred listing spot. Compared to Russound's IC-610 and IC-620 models, the IC-820 also provides an enhanced frequency response for a wider and fuller range of sound. Single point speakers are ideal for smaller home audio setups where only one or two speakers can fit, like smaller bedrooms, hallways, etc. This speaker's hardware reflects its two-channel audio delivery with dual tweeters and a dual voice-coil woofer. The speakers are lightweight and feature a trademarked EasyGrip design that makes it easy to handle during installation, even with one hand. This premium Russound model also features its proprietary, patented SwiftLock® technology for effortless installation at the push of a button.
Speaker Placement in the Room
Russound's Architectural Series Speakers are designed to provide full sounding dispersion even in suboptimal positions away from the targeted primary axis, so that listeners throughout the room are treated to full, rich audio reproduction. For each room, think about what kind of listening will be most often occurring there. In a Great Room, living room, or bedroom, the ideal speaker placement will result in smooth, even coverage throughout the room. In a Home Theater set-up, you want the speakers to be equidistant from the prime listening position in order for the breadth and depth of the audio to feel like a movie theater's surround sound system.
For TV, movie, and music usage, ceiling speakers should be placed directly to the sides or behind the prime listening position and aimed toward the listener. If the prime purpose of the surround system is to listen to music, the in-ceiling speakers should be aimed at the prime listening position. Any in-ceiling speakers used for rear surround sound channels should be placed just behind the viewers.
Your speaker's low frequency bass reproduction is "helped" when ceiling speakers are placed close to a wall or ceiling. This is known as the boundary effect. Each nearby surface helps to amplify the perceived sound output. Better audio performance will result if both speakers are placed in similar positions and face a similar type of surface. For example, avoid placing one speaker in a corner and another on a long flat surface.
Below are some examples for in-ceiling placement options:

NOTE: Russound recommends cutting an 9.875" (25 cm) opening for ease of installation.
