Control and Connect Multiple Devices on One Network

The Global Caché Global Connect, GC7 is a high performance modular network adapter capable of providing universal control over multiple devices that operate across different communication protocols. Each module included in the Global Connect Chassis features an individual IP address, allowing for individual configuration and connection through the online web portal. This Global Connect GC7 Model includes Power over Ethernet connectivity, HDMI Switch and Bidirectional Serial connections, and IR Emitter and IR Blaster modules.

Dual Ethernet Network Module

The Dual Ethernet Network Module has 2 Ethernet ports and a power connector. The module supports Power over Ethernet and network switching. Network switching capabilities allow for daisy-chaining of multiple Global Connect units, or connecting Raspberry Pi software to your network.

HDMI 3 In/1 Out Switch

The HDMI Switch module enables switching between 3 different AV sources at resolutions up to UHD 4K at 60Hz over HDMI cables. The switch also can detect whether the On/Off/Standby status of connected HDMI devices and issue On/Off commands.

The module also includes HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) capabilities which provides easy command and control of devices connected through HDMI. The module includes support for HDCP 2.2 (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) devices.

Serial RS232 Bi-directional

The bidirectional Serial module features a male DTE (Data Terminal Equipment) DB9 connector in order to connect RS232 devices to your local network using serial cables. Connected serial devices can then be configured by using Global Caché's simple and highly configurable online web interface.

3 IR Output/ 1 IR Sensor Input

Infrared (IR) modules can interact with any device that use IR transmissions, such as TV remotes. The module includes 3 IR transmitters, or "blasters", and 1 IR Emitter Sensor Input. The IR blasters send signals up to 35 feet to IR receivers. IR Emitters act as "shortcuts" for delivering IR signals to IR receiver by mounting directly onto receivers and converting signals sent over the Internet to selected device. These IR emitters have a range of around 1 inch (2.5 cm). It is important to place the IR emitters directly on top of the IR receiver of the controlled device. This allows IR commands to bypass any latent signal interference.

Installation Details

The Global Connect G7 is a freestanding chassis that can placed on your entertainment stand or in your office or server room. Connect Global Connect to your home network via Ethernet.

Global Caché Global Connect uses an online web tool to set up and configure each module installed in the Global Connect chassis. Additionally, Global Caché has a list of partner apps and software that can integrate with their online web tool and even allow for remote control of your connected devices.

To configure the Global Connect, download and run Global Caché's iHelp program. The program will detect the individual IP addresses for each of the modules installed. Select the module you wish to adjust settings for and apply the relevant changes.
