Add Z-Wave and Z-Wave Long Range connectivity and remote access to your garage door with the Ecolink Z-Wave Long Range Garage Controller. This Z-Wave gateway connects directly to a garage door operator to add remote Open/Close control and real-time device monitoring to your garage door. Once added into your Z-Wave network, the Ecolink Z-Wave Long Range Garage Controller enables your garage door to be included in automated routines to automatically Open/Close your garage when you arrive or leave home. An included tilt sensor sends real-time status, ambient temperature, and usage alerts of your garage door to your Z-Wave controller's mobile device, informing you when the garage door is used or simply reporting the door's current status when you check in on your mobile device.
The Ecolink Garage Controller is compatible with most legacy garage door openers and nearly any Z-Wave or Z-Wave Plus device and system hub. The Ecolink Z-Wave Long Range Garage Controller utilizes both Z-Wave 800 and Z-Wave LR wireless technology to provide reliable connectivity, increased encryption protection, and easier setup into Z-Wave networks. Users can choose which Z-Wave transmission option for the Ecolink Garage Controller that best suits their network: Z-Wave 800 for standard mesh connectivity that increase the signal strength and overall reach of their Z-Wave network, or Z-Wave LR for long range direct communication between the Garage Controller and a compatible Z-Wave LR hub up to 2200ft (670) away. If the Ecolink Garage Controller is using Z-Wave LR frequencies, it is unable to be used as a standard Z-Wave relay and must be connected with a Z-Wave LR compatible hub.
The Ecolink Z-Wave Long Range Garage Controller can easily be mounted onto the existing L bracket and be connected directly to the garage door operator, which enables communication with the Z-Wave hub or security panel. Mount the included door sensor to the garage door, or if you prefer, you can use a hard-wired reed switch to monitor the state of the garage door. For controlling the garage door opener, you'll need to wirelessly pair the Z-Wave Garage Door Controller to the garage door opener or use a hard-wired connection to the garage door opener's button terminal. Pair the Z-Wave Garage Door Controller to your Z-Wave enabled hub or security panel; then test if it can open or close the garage door via the "test" mode and whether or not it can be controlled via your Z-Wave network.

Z-Wave Plus v3 is an upgraded Z-Wave certification program to help you identify products that take advantage of the latest Z-Wave hardware platform, also known as 800 Series or Gen8 Z-Wave. Z-Wave Plus v3 compatible devices include extended wireless relay range up to 130 feet (40m) to the nearest Z-Wave device, three layers of encryption, faster operation, and longer battery life.

Z-Wave LR extends Z-Wave connectivity beyond the boundaries of a single building with increased range and coverage and optimized battery life. Z-Wave LR devices operate on a star network topology which features a Z-Wave LR compatible gateway/hub at a central point and then establishes a direct connection to devices. ZWLR compatible devices can reach a max transmission range of up to 262 ft (80 m) indoors and 1 mile (1.6km) outdoors without using any other Z-Wave devices as a signal relay or node. Z-Wave networks can support both Z-Wave LR and traditional Z-Wave nodes can co-exist within the same network, enabling a wide variety and combination of Z-Wave devices and Z-Wave LR devices.
