3-In-1 Interface For Elk Controllers
The Elk M1 Lighting, Thermostat, Serial Interface Board (M1XSP) is a 3-in-1 interface module for lighting, thermostats, and serial port expansion.
- As a lighting interface, the board allows the Elk M1 Gold Control Panel to support a range of lighting control products that use serial communications, such as UPB and ALC.
- As a thermostat interface, the board enables integration of communicating thermostats made by RCS, Aprilaire, Leviton Security and Automation, and other advanced thermostat brands.
- As a serial port expander, the interface board expands the RS-232 communication ports of the M1 control panel to support multiple connections to most any type of equipment that communicates using serial ASCII commands, like PCs and whole house subsystems.
Jumpers on the interface board select the appropriate application, connection, and protocol. Best of all, the board operates from the 4-wire (RS-485) M1 Keypad data bus, allowing RS-232 ports to be located long distances away from the controller.The Elk M1 Gold Control Panel supports up to seven M1XSPs. The communications baud rate is adjustable from 300 to 38,400 baud. The unit comes complete with cable and a black surface mountable housing.
