Installation and programming instructions for the Yale Real Living® Assure Lock™ Push Button Deadbolt (YRD216) — an ASSA ABLOY brand keypad deadbolt with optional network module support. This manual is a scanned illustrated instruction sheet; the images below are the full original pages.

A Master PIN Code must be created before any further programming. Max user codes = 250 with the Network Module, or 25 without.
Press ⚙ (gear) → Press ⚙ again → Press 1 → Press ⚙ → Enter 4-8 digit Master PIN Code → Press ⚙
(Master PIN must exist first) Enter Master PIN → Press ⚙ → Press 1 → Press ⚙ → Enter 4-8 digit PIN code → Press ⚙
Enter PIN → Press ✓ (Unlock)
Resetting deletes all user codes (including Master) and restores default settings.
After reset, Master PIN Code creation is the only available option and must be performed before any other programming.

Enter the 4-8 digit Master PIN followed by ⚙, then enter the digit for the desired function followed by ⚙. Default settings shown in bold below.
| Symptom | Suggested Action |
|---|---|
| Lock does not respond (door open/accessible) | Check keypad response, battery polarity/condition, and cable connection. |
| Lock does not respond (door locked/inaccessible) | Batteries may be discharged — use key to gain entry and replace batteries. |
| Chime sounds but door won't open | Check for another locking device, door gap obstructions, or a loose PC board cable. |
| Won't automatically re-lock | Check Auto Re-lock Mode is enabled; change batteries if low-battery indicator is lit. |
| PIN codes won't register | Codes must be 4-8 digits, unique per user, entered within 5 seconds; contact the Master user. |
| Beeps + red/blue LED flash 7x, no unlock | All Code Lockout Mode is enabled — only the Master can disable it. |
| No sound on operation | Enable Audio Mode. |
| Intermittent RED flashes | Low battery indicator — replace all 4 AA alkaline batteries. |
