    Quick setup guide for the WGL V572A X10 transceiver module. The V572A receives all 256 housecode/unitcode addresses plus commands, filters those signals according to your configuration, and relays them to a power line interface unit for transmission over household wiring to any capable X10 device.

    Verify Box Contents

    7. 9-volt DC power supply

    Note: A power line interface (X10's PSC05 or TW523) is required for operation and is not included with this package.

    Installation

    • Connect the PSC05 and V572A together with the special data cable — verify both RJ11 plugs are fully snapped in place.
    • Connect the power supply to the V572A module via the small jack labeled "9 VDC".
    • Plug the power supply and the PSC05 into a pair of 110V, 60Hz power outlets.
    • Connect the antenna to the V572A module with the coax cable. Avoid mounting the antenna near metallic items like heating equipment.
    • Verify proper operation by transmitting on any house code and unit code that an X10 module is set to, using the matching button on the palm pad.

    Filtering House Codes / Unit Codes

    The V572A module ships preset with all house codes and unit codes enabled. To filter or selectively inhibit specific house codes/unit codes, you'll need a PC running Windows 98 or later, a serial port, and the supplied RS232 cable.

    1. Go to www.wgldesigns.com/v572.html
    2. Click "Download Software"
    3. Once installed, run the program v572.exe
    4. Set up the Serial Port box first by selecting the serial port assignment the module is connected to
    5. Test the assignment by pushing "Apply". If you get "module not responding, could be busy or disconnected, try again", verify connections and port assignment. A successful response reads "V572 module detected".
    6. Click "OK", then push "read V572" — it should show all check boxes filled, indicating all house codes/unit codes are enabled
    7. Change settings as required — a check mark means that particular house code/unit code is enabled
    8. Once ready, click "loadV572" to load the filter mask onto the module
    9. Exit the program by clicking the X in the upper right corner
