Installation manual for the Video Mount Products (VMP) FP-XML-PWAB Low-Profile Articulating Full-Motion Wall Mount for LCD, Plasma, and LED displays, 17"–65".

Overview

The FP-XML-PWAB is a full-motion articulating wall mount that supports flat panel displays from 17" to 65". It offers tilt, pan/swivel, and level-correction adjustment after installation, with a locking safety latch to secure the display to the wall bracket.

Safety Warnings

• Read all instructions before beginning installation.
• The wall mounting surface must be able to support the combined weight of the mount and the display — as a safety margin, the wall structure should support at least 4x the maximum rated display weight (180 kg equivalent for a 45 kg display) to account for potential impact loading.
• Before drilling, locate hidden pipes, wires, and other hazards in the wall.
• Use appropriate safety gear. Two people are required for installation — display and mount arms are heavy and awkward for one person to handle safely.
• Follow local building codes for weight limits and mounting locations.

Tools Required

• Phillips head screwdriver
• Ratchet / driver with 7/16" (11 mm) socket
• Electric / cordless drill
• 6 mm (1/4") drill bit and stud finder (for drywall installs)
• 10 mm (3/8") masonry bit (for concrete installs)

Installation Steps

1. Mounting to the Wall

• Drywall: Studs must be spaced no less than 16" apart to support the combined weight. Locate studs, drill, and secure the mount using lag bolts (A), washers (B), and appropriate spacers. Level the mount with a bubble level.
• Concrete: Position the mount and mark hole locations. Drill with a masonry bit and insert concrete anchors (C). Secure the mount with lag bolts and washers. Hollow-core block walls must be reinforced before mounting.

2. Attaching Mount Arms to the Display

• Determine the correct screw length based on the display's rear panel thickness — flat-back displays use a different screw length than curved-back displays.
• Attach the mounting arms to the back of the display using the appropriate screws (D, E, F, or G) with washers/spacers as needed.

3. Final Assembly

1. With a second person's help, lift the display and hook the mount arms onto the wall bracket.
2. Close the safety latch to secure the display and prevent accidental lift-off.
3. Re-attach any plastic covers removed during installation.

Important: The safety latch must remain closed at all times to prevent accidental detachment of the display from the wall bracket.

Operation and Adjustment

• Tilt adjustment: Loosen the tilt screws with a 4 mm Allen key from the underside of the mount arm, adjust tilt, then re-tighten. Do not fully remove the tilt screws.
• Swivel / pan adjustment: Grip the display firmly and move it to the desired position, keeping fingers clear of pinch points during motion.
• Level correction: Use the 3/8" socket wrench (L) to evenly rotate the four nuts at the base plate for fine leveling. Do not fully loosen all four nuts at once.

Maintenance

Periodically inspect the mount and display screws/hardware for tightness and re-tighten as needed. Perform inspections regularly to ensure long-term structural safety.
