    September 08, 2026 5 min read

User manual for the TrackPIN Gate Keypad system: app-managed keypad, switch, and hub for gate access control.

    Full text manual (for reference)

User manual for the TrackPIN Gate Keypad system — a smart, app-managed keypad, switch, and hub system for controlling gate access with individually managed PIN codes.

    Overview

The TrackPIN Gate Keypad system connects to your gate operator through a Hub, Switch, and Keypad, letting you create and manage individual PIN codes remotely via the TrackPIN app, with activity logging for each entry.

    What's Included

    • TrackPIN Switch
    • TrackPIN Keypad
    • TrackPIN Hub
    • Hub power cord
    • Switch power cord
    • Ethernet cable
    • Position sensor

    Getting Started

    1. Log on to app.trackpin.com and click "+New/Setup."
    2. Enter your email, password, and zip code in the provided fields.
    3. Enter the key number found on the Hub.
    4. Click "Create Account."

    Installing Your Hub

The Hub transmits and receives a radio frequency signal that can be blocked by metal objects and other electronics. For best performance and range, avoid metal objects between the Hub and gate, and allow as much distance as possible between the Hub and other electronic devices.

    1. Insert the Hub power cord into the power port on the bottom of the Hub, and plug it into an existing power outlet.
    2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to an open port on your internet router, and the other end to the Ethernet port on the bottom of the Hub.

Note: Once the Hub is connected to power, you should see a blue light indicating it's ON.

    Installing Your Switch

    Mounting Your Switch

Choose a mounting location where the LED light is easily visible — support agents will ask about its status if you contact them.

Safety note: Unplug/disconnect power to the gate operator before installation to prevent the motor from accidentally operating during installation.

Mount your Switch using one of two methods:

    1. Locate a spot near the gate operator, mark the two screw hole positions, drill, press a wall anchor into each hole, then mount the switch and fasten with the two screws.
    2. Secure the switch to the existing gate pedestal, gate operator, or bracket using the supplied adhesive tape or screws.

Important: Make sure the switch and wires are clear of any moving parts on the gate operator and drive assembly.

Connecting Your Switch to the Gate Operator

The order in which you connect the switch's connecting wires is not important, as long as they're inserted into the common and open ports of the gate operator.

    1. Identify whether your gate requires a normally open or normally closed relay, and install the wires in the appropriate order.
    2. Connect the wires to the common and open ports on the gate controller.
    3. Wire one end of the Switch power cable into the Switch and the other end into a power source. Once powered, the LED on the Switch lights up.
    4. Optionally, connect the battery backup.

The Switch board terminals are labeled GND, R2IN, R1IN (position sensor), AUXO, AUXI, NC, COM, and NO, with a 12V battery input and a 12–24VDC power input. The Switch can receive power from the supplied power adapter, or from any 12–24 volt, 1-amp gate control panel.

    Installing Your Door Position Sensor

    1. Close your gate.
    2. Locate an unobstructed path to run wiring from the mounted Switch to the side of the gate.
    3. Clean and dry a small area on the side surface of the gate.
    4. Peel the protective film from the non-wired sensor's adhesive tape and press it firmly onto the gate.
    5. Place the wired sensor on the gate frame within an inch of the non-wired sensor, ensuring the non-wired sensor clears the wired sensor when the gate opens.
    6. Clean, dry, and mount the wired sensor's location, peeling off the adhesive film and pressing it firmly onto the frame.
    7. Alternatively, mount both sensors using the supplied mounting screws and anchors.
    8. Lead the wire from the sensor to the Switch, and plug it into the sensor connector (R1IN and GND on the board — wire order doesn't matter).

    Installing Your Keypad

    Mounting Your Keypad

If replacing an existing keypad: remove the old keypad and, where possible, line up the existing screw holes with the mounting holes in the TrackPIN Keypad.

If installing a new keypad: hold the keypad up to the wall/pedestal and mark the mounting position, drill holes for the supplied wall anchors, insert anchors if required, then insert and tighten the supplied screws.

    Installing the Batteries

    1. Unlock and lower the front of the keypad.
    2. Insert batteries into the battery holder.
    3. Replace the keypad face and lock the keypad.

Note: To verify the keypad is ON, press any key and watch the lights illuminate. In direct sunlight, illuminated lights may appear dim.

    Programming Your First PIN

    1. Navigate to the "My PINs" menu and select "+ New PIN."
    2. A random PIN is automatically created — or re-enter any four-digit number of your choice.
    3. Name the PIN and select SAVE. Your new PIN will be available for use after 5–15 seconds.
    4. Enter your new four-digit PIN on the keypad to open or close your gate.

After entering the PIN, a log of your activity appears on the home screen/activity log of your TrackPIN account (a screen refresh may be required).

    Warranty

The TrackPIN keypad carries a 24-month warranty from Transmitter Solutions, beginning on the date of manufacture. During the warranty period, the product will be repaired or replaced (at Transmitter Solutions' sole discretion) if it fails to operate correctly due to a defective component.
